Quaint cosy Fench cafe

Love the cosiness and unique French cuisine. The corned beef and cabbage soup was excellent. I heard other patrons raving about the esquargo. The splits of champagne went well with the seafood Normandy that I enjoyed.

I liked the idea of this restaurant. It is very quaint and authentically french. I had one breakfast and one dinner here because it was close to my hotel. Both meals were fine although not outstanding. The one negative comment I have is that, both times I went in, the staff seemed very unhappy. They weren't rude but they were... More

Fun little place... a good place for a snack and a drink. Pretty aloof wait staff, I'm posting this having waited 15 minutes for them to acknowledge that we're sitting here without drinks or a check while they chat in the back room. There are only 4 other people in the place. Did I mention the atmosphere is good?

What a great Charleston restaurant! Community seating, friendly staff, very tasty food and efficient. I ate the daily special curry pork over rice served with bread and Brie. My wife had zucchini Brie soup (this was excellent) and ham and Brie croissant. This is a must do on Broad Street. We were rushed to make a tour and they got... More

Okay, I am a complete coffee snob, so the bar is super-high for me to gush on about coffee. This could well be the best coffee on earth! Went in here every chance we had on our recent trip, and everything we tried was a delight. The 4 o clock was yummy, croissants were flawless, sandwiches to go for a... More

This was our second stop on our food tour and we were so impressed with the quality of this little place. We had a carrot ginger soup that had so much spice and flavor it was a joy to taste each spoonful. Also they had a kimchi that was an original. I loved that because I have never had the... More

Very good. Quick, delicious, simple. If you're in need of a quick bite that's "fast and French," this is an excellent choice.

Gaulart and Maliclet, or Fast and French as it is commonly known, originally started as a social experiment. The owners wanted to see if people could adapt to the European style of eating, sitting in close proximity to one another. After that, it became extremely popular and is still around today. Fast and French has attentive servers, phenomenal FRESH food,... More

My wife and I ate lunch here on March 3, 2015. Our tour guide had recommended it, and I'm glad. The food and wine were delicious. But what I enjoyed was the seating arrangement, which encourages meeting the other diners. I admit that, being from inside the Beltway, at first I was reluctant to talk to the other diners. But... I heard really great things about this place, so when I finally did make it to Charleston last month, my fiance and I made sure to stop by. We had a late lunch/early dinner and we were more than happy with the food. The sandwiches and soups were really good. Also, I had some coffee in a French Press, and... More
