Stopped by for lunch on the recommendation of our B & B hostess. We were not disappointed. We were seated at a counter next to a mixture of tourists and locals. Interesting and ever-changing menu with good value (try the daily special which includes a glass of the house wine). Great spot to take a quick break from your walking... more

We stumbled upon this gem on our recent trip to Charleston...we were looking for a quick, affordable lunch, and that is just what we found. The service was so-so...but the locals seemed right at home (pretty sure we were the only tourists). We returned for Thursday night fondue which was wonderful and WAY more affordable than the Melting Pot. Some... more

This is no Epcot Center faux-French theme restaurant. It is a tiny but friendly, slightly tattered but hip, genuinely French-style cafe. Be aware that you will be seated at a bar-like counter adjacent to strangers; if that is not your style, look elsewhere. The tossed salad plus "O'Salmon" featured a very fresh salad alongside an open-faced sandwich of smoked salmon... more

So I convinced my coworkers to try this place TWICE.... and both times we've been disappointed. Or more so me cuz now its my fault that I picked a bad place to eat - TWICE. The first time we went it happened to be ethnic special night. So since we had no idea what Yassa was we all decided to... more

Gaulart & Maliclet, called G&M by some, and 'Fast and French' by others, is terrific and is a local favorite. There is often a line at lunch and we could see why: the food is terrific and the service is great. We wish we could take it home with us. If you're visiting Charleston, try to stop in for lunch.... more

I love this place. The food is wonderful, the value is great and it is one fun place to hang out. It is a casual and low key atmosphere and never disappoints. The food is really great and lots of interesting people inhabit the place. Good variety of wine and everything is really well priced. more

Very European atmosphere accompanied by wonderful food. The French press coffee is to die for and all of their wines and beers are carefully selected. We heard our table mates talking about how wonderful the house chardonnay and cheesecake were. My husband and I had a ham/turkey and brie croissant which were both amazing. We didn't have any soup, but... more

Read about this place on TripAdvisor, and thought we might give it a try. We turned onto Broad Street hoping to find it and we spotted it almost immediately. It's a very casual atmosphere, and the food was very European - simple and excellent. We had 3 lunch specials and 1 dessert and our whole bill was about $26. Great... more

The soups are exquisite, especially the cold cucumber. I stop in 1-2 times a week when I'm in Charleston, whether dining in or takeaway, it's always a delicious, well priced treat more
