Get the Gazpacho.

I first discovered this café while studying at the College of Charleston. It was a great place (back then ) to study from 2:30-4:30 in a back corner with a soup plate of the gazpacho soup and a croq' baguette. I have traveled often back to Charleston and never fail to grab lunch here. I've brought... read more

The Cafe is known to locals as Fast & French. We ate here for dinner our first night in town as we were tired from the long drive and wanted something different but not typical fast food. The Thursday nights special is Fondue. Our wait staff told us about the restaurant having been conceived by a couple from France (he was... More

Stopped in for lunch between meetings and ate everything on my plate. I had the ham and brie with a house salad and delicious pressed coffee. The atmosphere is very casual and interestingly configured. The portion sizes are perfect too.

We ate here for lunch. This place is small, dark, crowded and rather decorated with French posters, wine bottles, etc. We waited a few minutes and then were seated at a communal table with some other diners (some local, a few tourists). The restaurant has a number of specials that have soup, a sandwich or other main dish, fresh fruit... More

I came for breakfast having read reviews. I figured there was more to it than what I saw on the menu. If you won't make an omelette or quiche and you have no concept of how to make a croissant, apparently, why call it French?

One of my favorite places. Not that the food is the best I've ever eaten but the totality of the experience. You sit with locals/visitors wherever there is room. Service can be good, sometimes not but the overall experience is great.

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and so glad I did! Went for lunch and had the brie and turkey melt on croissant while my companion opted for a turkey and ham with melted cheese on French bread. Dessert sorbet (peach) was very good and tasted homemade. Highly recommend for lunch in Charleston!

Sit at the bar, eat with the locals, have a glass of wine and enjoy a nice lunch. I almost always have lunch here when visiting Charleston. That's how much I enjoy this restaurant.

This was a fairly random choice for our lunch and we loved it! The place is not very big, with fun ambiance and semi-communal seating. Fast and friendly service, nice French-centric menu. Lunch specials include a choice of several soups, and then you are looking at various sandwiches, pate, etc. A fellow patron nearby raved about hibiscus punch that is... More

I've never been to a French cafe for lunch and wanted to give this a try with a friend. Unfortunately, she has a gluten-free diet and couldn't eat anything on the menu. Staff was friendly. very little meat but that might be how they serve it over there. I was still hungry after leaving. Not expensive though.
