Cypress was a good choice for our first night in Charleston. The space is very attractive, the service excellent and the food was very good. Although the lobster bisque was not as creamy as I would have liked, that is a matter of personal taste and not a criticism of the restaurant. Everything else was delicious. There is an extensive... Very comfortable dining with very friendly staff. Very good food and great cocktails. Try the Mule. Seven of us had different entres and all were very good. My filet was just a bit on the salty side but done to perfection. I'd return in a minute.

Upscale decor and food -- a very hip restaurant, but it was fine that we weren't all dressed up. This is a pricey place, but the portions were good and the food beautifully presented and all great.

On a night with torrential rain, a mostly empty dining room, and before 8 my date and I had a dinner that left me feeling aggravated and disappointed. I am usually a fan of Cypress, so it was extremely frustrating that the filet of beef I ordered wasn't properly cooked and the offer was to refire it, not replace it.... More

If you are looking for a fancier atmosphere and good food this is the spot. The fish was outstanding as were the app's. Just more expensive than we wanted. But the very best of all was the Cucumber Mojitos!!!! A must try if you are adventurous in taste. Probably what made our bill so high but OH SO GOOD!!!!

Cypress has a sophisticated, contemporary setting, with excellent food and service. I had scallops and pork belly that were out of this world.

I'll admit I'm working from a smallish sample size of restaurants in Charleston, but we were very impressed by the food at Cypress. First, the chef dabbles in charcuterie, and you would be remiss if you did not partake of the charcuterie menu. Some of the best stuff I've had this side of the Atlantic. Second, the special was extremely... More

This is my daughter's favorite restaurant in Charleston. When I come to visit it's a given that we'll be eating at Cypress at least one night! This was the case a few weeks ago when we had the occasion to dine at some of Charleston's top restaurants. The service at Cypress was the best!! We basically put our Server in... More

Wow!! I can't even begin to tell you how horrible this restaurant was. Visited over memorial weekend, sat at the bar upstairs. Ordered an average cocktail and decided to get "their signature dish" tuna wrapped in phyllo flash fried, promised to still have a cool red center. Man, I should have stopped when they said deep fried tuna, who does... More

We visited this restaurant on ourvacation and we were so glad that we did. The service was impeccable and the food was better. We order the Chateubriand for two and it was superb. It was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was lovely with changing lights. I highly recommend!
