My mom, sister, husband and I ate here Easter Saturday and had a great meal. The staff was very attentive and the atmosphere is casual elegance. I loves the booths with their high backs and the three story red wine cellar. If you like tuna, I highly recommend the wasabi tuna! It was amazing!! Korean beef was also Delish, wreck... More

This restaurant serves deliciously eclectic cuisine which is so good it almost makes one ignore the frequently and unsubtle change of lighting. Unfortunately the light became the topic of such as" the yellow hued lighting makes you look weird". And so it went throughout dinner. Our waiter was excellent and made good suggestions. If you like sushi (we do) the... More

My husband and I had reservations for dinner at the Cyprus in Charleston. We were seated at a table for two in the middle of the room, no privacy at all. I wondered why bother making reservations if this was the best they could offer us? However, I moved beyond that hoping to be wowed with food and service. Nope!... More

I live in Downtown Charleston and have had ample opportunity to be through the doors of many the eating establishments it has to offer. Some I have felt were overpriced tourist traps, some hidden gems, and others world class restaurants. Cypress is a world class restaurant! The food is down to earth food with out of this world flavor, it... More

Chef diehl's notoriety is well deserved. His tuna wasabi is delicious, lamb done really well and other entrees really stand up to his James Beard reputation and awards. The tableside Cesar is a must for salad lovers. The menu offers an array of martinis, bourbons and fine wines. The atmosphere and ambience are special. There are two floors. Sitting on... More

This is a great-looking contemporary dining room with a handsome crowd. The food is fantastic, combining ingredients that make you think "Hmmm?" when you read about them on the menu, and "Of course!" when you actually eat them. The oyster and tuna tartare appetizer was one example, and a strawberry "napoleon" made with layers of almond macaroons instead of pastry... More

Cypress was a nice meal out with friends for a celebration. The food was very good, but not exceptional. Some at our table ordered the Caesar salad - which if you have seen other reviews you know they make at table side; the slight hitch in this was that the oil splashed all over one of the guests at the... One of my favorite cities to dine in and this could be one of my favorite places to dine. We were a table of 6 and we were seated almost as soon as we arrived. The restaurant was full and yet the noise level was not so high that we could not hear each other speak. I loved the two... More

We arrived at 7:00 for our reservation and were quickly shown to our table. (I always wonder why there are four place settings at the table when the reservation is for two...). Our wait person arrived promptly and took our drink orders. We began with the Caesar Salad, which was prepared at they table by our server. She did a... More

Try the pork. it is great, and unique! They buy their pork from a local farm, and prepare it themselves. Steak is great too. Not very keen on the crab cakes, however.
