Birthday Dinner

. I made reservations for my husbands birthday dinner at this restaurant because they still prepare Caesar salad at table side. This had been popular when we were dating some 40 years ago. Our daughter and son in law came too.. They were very impressed with how the salad was prepared and how... read more

Snooty maitre 'd and neo ambiance are not enough to cover for average fare. Try its sister restaurant, Magnolia's, down the street.

We had looked forward to eating at this highly rated restaurant in Charleston and unfortunately, this did not meet my expectation. The ambience was extremely interesting, and the two appetizers we ordered were delicious. The white wine selection was limited, and the one we ordered, they did not have despite a whole wall of wine bottles. The problems began with... More

Loved everything about this restaurant. Superb drinks (speciality martinis were delish!), wonderful service and the food was to die for. It's a very fun atmosphere - trendy and chic - yet, relaxed. We enjoyed a nice, long meal and never felt pressured to hurry for the next guests. Our server, Paul, was very knowledgeable about the menu and did a... More

The food here is amazing. On Monday evenings between 5:30pm and 7pm they have a special with gourmet sandwiches at unbelievably reasonable prices. We had six people in our group and we tried a number of these sandwiches and they all were an incredible experience. I had their special tuna burger. It didn't sound like something I'd like, but one... More

In a word, incredible. The food here is amazing. The ambiance mixes sleek modernism with historic details of Charleston's past. Had a fabulous mojito at the bar then went downstairs for dinner. Suffice to say, no wonder the chef has been a James Beard Award nominee! My favorite of all was the dessert: almond financier with blueberries, Chantilly cream, white... More

Monday was our first evening in Charleston. We arrived hot, tired and a bit overwhelmed by all the choices of restaurants. My husband stopped to purchase a cigar and asked for a recommendation for dinner from the owner of the cigar shop. He suggested we check out Cypress. He said they were a steakhouse however every Monday evening from 5-7pm,... More

Service was quite slow. Food was fantastic. Started with the charcuterie plate which was very good. I had the pork chop and it was nice and juicy.

Phenomenal food and fabulous decor make this a must-try fine dining experience For an appetizer, we tried the grilled pork belly and crab bun along with the almond-fried brie. The crab bun stole the show. My husband had the wreckfish, which he is still raving about and I had the crisp wasabi tuna, and I cannot put into words how... More
