This is a great spot to eat

We were a table of 6 and we were seated almost as soon as we arrived. The signature dish (crunchy tuna) and drink (lavender martini) are great. The restaurant is fairly expensive but many places in Charleston are.

I cannot praise this restaurant more. We had the most amazing waitress, she was incredible. 3 of us had the steak Diane and it was amazing, completely perfect! As this was a pre wedding dinner it was simply amazing. 5 of us dined and we all had drinks a large starter main courses and dessert. The waitress even came out... More

My husband and I went here on a Thursday evening, we were shocked we could get a last minute reservation. So glad we did! We began with the Moscow mule- never had jalapeño in one before but loved it! We started with a 1/2 dozen oysters and the mushroom flatbread. Oysters were fresh, served with sushi grade tuna and a... More

Cypress is really top notch. We tried its crabcake, beef and scallops, and a special course of deep fried snapper and "meat candy". All of them are excellent. The sauce of crabcake with ginger fits the rich crab meat very well; the beef tastes well wined accompanied with minimally grilled scallops; the snapper is very tender without a feeling of... More

From the minute you walk in the door you know this is no ordinary restaurant. The space is open, airy, modern and plush. We started in the upstairs bar with cocktails. I had a pear martini served down low on the rocks. It was perfect - not too sweet like many are. Then downstairs for dinner. I had the beef... More

I can't say enough about the meal! It was my second time to cypress and once again I was impressed by the award winning chef. We ordered the table side ceaser and the steak Diane which were both wonderful. Our service was great as well, except for the rather off-putting hostess. We were dinning late on a Sunday and didn't... More

We got a hot tip to try Cypress, one of Charleston's best restaurants, on Monday nights for their special $5-a-burger dinner (served upstairs; regular menu available downstairs). They grind the meat there and bake the rolls themselves, and the hamburgers were--seriously--the best we've had. Several variations are offered (traditional, one with boursin, a portobello mushroom vegetable version, and chicken). We... More
