The food was good, on par with other restaurants we've tried - not excellent, but satisfactory. Our server , Mike, was very good - pleasant & helpful. We'd go back, but it wasn't an "over-whelmingly" delicious meal. One negative: the background music was MUCH too loud - hard to talk over it at tables under speakers.

We really enjoyed the dinner. I had awesome fried oysters and my friend had some kind of wrapped shrimp that looked great! Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

During a recent trip to Charleston we popped in for a quick lunch. I have said many times, "you just can't get a bad meal in Charleston". Well, this was just fair at best. I was bummed. The service was not great(despite it being not busy at all). Food was just, "ehhh". I had a shrimp po-boy and my husband... More

There were four as us that stopped for lunch. We had the Petite Crab Fritters and the She Crab Soup as the appetizers. The soup was particularly good. I should have gone with the soup rather than the fritters which lacked any flavor from the sauce that was on top. We then had the Shucks Legendary Casserole and the Seafood... More

I was disappointed. Both of our dinners were over done. There was not a lot of business the day we ate there, so maybe that should have been a clue. After a tiring day of touring, we did not want to spend time sending the food back, so we ate what we could.

Really loved the location, the food was good but not gourmet, we did enjoy the oysters and the bar staff was friendly. It was a good place to bring a large group of family or sit at the bar for burger and fries or clams. I wouldn't call it romantic but I think it's worth doing for a lunch

Let me start by saying we arrived at the restaurant at about 5:00 and we were the only customers there. It is slower this time of year and it was a Wednesday evening. We asked the first person we saw if they were open and if the seafood was good. The chef came out and assured us the seafood was... More

We were in a bit of a hurry so stopped in here for dinner because it was the least crowded of the restaurants in the area. We figured we could get in and out quickly and actually expressed to the hostess that we were on a tight schedule. She said it was no problem, we could get in and out... More

My college and I both ordered the steam pot. They were both under cooked. Specifically the shrimp was under cooked. The plate (pan) was large but the portions in the shell were small. The crab was small, the oysters were hard to crank. The mussels were good portions . Iike other reviews, a little over priced in my opinion.

One of my goals was to sample fried oysters while in Charleston. We choose Shucks and while the oysters were good, nothing else about the visit made it special. 1) The price charged was not the same as the menu posted in the window. 2) A refill of my drink never happened. 3) We entered on the bar side (which...
