We ate here in early September, based on the good reviews. We were not impressed with the food or service. It was not worth the trip from Kiawah Island from our condo. It was only a small step above a good chain restaurant. Chez Fish, the Fat Hen, and the Wild Olive are much better choices.

OMG I can not say enough good things about their seafood- we had steamed seasoned large grade shrimp with a cluster of crab legs. The crab legs were so big we had to ask out waiter if they were king crab or snow crab and they were snow crab but so full of meat- I would def recommend this place... More

Let me say that if it had not been raining the outside seating would have been amazing!! The view would have said it all. That said we were stuck inside where the visual atmosphere was only average. The food was excellent and the low country boil had some of the best shrimp I have ever tasted.

We loved this restaurant! Charleston is not known for "economical" dinners but this fell perfect for our budget. We enjoyed the low country boil, with the king crab legs. It was huge! We needed to split it. And we did just that...two days later! Sunset on the ICW, yummy hush puppies & great fresh seafood. We will be back!

I had some kind of oysters with cheese and herbs, grilled. Best oyster dish I had on the trip. Service was just ok. Great view though.

I'm not sure what it is about eating out on Sunday's in South Carolina but it appears most of the primary chefs take that day off and what's left isn't necessarily the best! So it went today at the Crab House. My wife and I took a guest for Sunday lunch. The good: Our server Lauren was very good, sitting... More

Food is good. The crab cakes are very meaty and flavorful. Service was good. The place has a shabby chic atmosphere; the décor is a little dated. Get a seat on the glass enclosed porch. It may be a little muggy due to the SC humidity but you will have a wonderful view of the water. My companions had the... More

What a great place to eat. You can be dressy or casual and still fit in perfect. Even though it was terribly hot we opted to sit outside on the deck and enjoy the water view. I had the crab cakes and everyone else got the market pot filled with crab, shrimp, clams, corn, etc. Hush puppies were amazing! Service... More

We were not impressed with the environment or the food. The service was okay. The food was bland and the atmosphere-environment needs a definite "pick me up"! Although it attracted us with being on the water, it was not worth our time on this short visit to Charleston. We hope and pray the owners take advantage of the chance to... More
