We went after dinner just for the Coconut Cake. Was is worth it? Oh, yeah! Don't miss it on your trip to Charleston!
We had Christmas dinner here last year. It was a set menu, very traditional, priced very reasonably and extremely delicious. Because we were staying at the hotel, it sort of felt like a family dinner. We were very pleased.
Everything from the service to the food was wonderful! We had scallops and shrimp. All the food was seasoned perfectly. The only thing I did not care for was the mushrooms in the grits.

The service and the meal were excellent and at $60 pp a very good value. The wine list was not overpriced and offered good value as well. The one small negative was the much advertised coconut cake. I opted to pay extra just to try their famous coconut cake. If you like cake and coconut frosting, then this is not... More

Had dinner consisting of bibb salad, lobster ravioli, swordfish, and coconut cake. Lobster ravioli was excellent. Swordfish was served with 3 different sauces on side. It was not dry and had very good flavor. I loved the coconut cake. It was extremely rich and could easily be shared by 2 people. Our waiter, Eric, was very courteous and helpful. He... More

Wife and I went yesterday for dinner. Service was excellent. Dinner exceded our expectation. Duck was cooked perfect and rack of lamb was fab. Everything was great, very very pleased. The only concern was the amount of wine you get when ordering by the glass, stingy. Not much for the price.

The food and service were very good. Best of all the dishes were not overly complicated. Both the signature coconut cake and lemon tart were excellent. Unlike many contemporary restaurants they appear to have been made by a pastry chef and not someone with an architectural degree. Considering the quality the cost was very reasonable.

Food was good. Not great. Service was good. Not great. Ordered a glass of wine that arrived with a huge lipstick smear on it. That should never happen at any restaurant much less a 5-star restaurant like Peninsula Grill. Just got a shrug of the shoulders from our server. No real apology or offer to comp the glass of wine.... More
