Food, service and atmosphere was outstanding. We were staying at the hotel restaurant and was already amazing so we decided to try the restaurant. The decor and ambience was very keen to details. The service very professional and friendly. I got the trio soup as a starter and they were all delicious. as a main course I had the shrimps... More

I went here for a night out with the family. Every bite of this meal was amazing. I ordered the scallops plated on top of crouton bread and mashed potatoes. This was the best meal I've ever had in my life! Our server was very attentive and made great recommendations for wine. I will return to this restaurant every time... More

My wife and I chose to dine at Peninsula Grill one evening on a recent visit. We arrived without reservations around 5:30PM and asked to sit outside, where 5-6 tables were located. We were accommodated and our servers were quickly by to provide water and take drink orders. The pace of the evening remained very well all night long with... More

My husband and I ate at the Peninsula Grill last week. We were visiting from London, England. I had very high hopes after reading the reviews, and was not at all disappointed. The food was great, the ambience nice, and the service very courteous. We ordered the lobster chowder and heirloom tomatoes special for starters, and the scallops and trout... More

Started with some starters that combined some surprising tastes and a well balanced entree I could not make it till the desert. But sure something I should have tried. After some initial struggle with our choice of whine, proposed by the sommelier, changing form Californian to French saved the day.

We recently spent two weeks in the Charleston area and had big plans to check out the best restaurants in the area. We went to four that are widely considered among the best, and of them all, the Peninsula Grill really stood out. We sat outdoors under the gas lamps and garden, and it could have been a better setting.... More

We ate here to celebrate my 60th birthday. We found the restaurant was extremely noisy and the tables so close together that you were force to talk with the guests at the tables on either side. Service was average and prices were high. My husband had the duck and I ordered rack of lamb. Both meals were nothing special. The... More

The waiter was impeccable, very well trained. Two entrees were excellent, however, the salmon was so salty that it was barely edible. The desserts were excellent. Wine selection was also fantastic.

Dear Dr. Joe -- thank you for sharing your experience, and we appreciate your thoughts on the seasoning of the salmon. Seasoning the cuisine to suit everyone's taste is without doubt one of the greatest challenges of cooking, and while we get it right the overwhelming majority of the time, sometimes a diner's taste and our taste for seasoning do...
