Fantastic food!

The food is fantastic! Very nice staff, clean, and easy to find. I would highly recommend the lobster and corn chowder.

Shared a meal with 5 friends and found unanimously that the food was superb (except the amuse bouche from the chef, nobody cared for the tomato gelee). Excellent wine menu, food selections, and desserts. Service was impressive.

OK. So everyone said that we just HAD to try the coconut cake. It's famous they said. It's been on the today's show, they said. It sooo good, they said. Ehhh. It was ok. It was literally $10 or $11 and was not any better than what my mom or grandma makes for every family reunion, etc. And actually, I... More

My girlfriend recommended this place. I did not realize how fancy it was and was mortified at my clothing when we entered. The wait staff did not blink an eye and treated us like all the other elegant guests. The meal was delightful in all aspects. The choices, the recommendations, the presentation. I had salmon that was cooked to perfection... More

We had read good reviews about this restaurant before we visited Charleston but hadn't really decided to go there. However we met a young college girl by chance who worked their in the dessert division so we decided to give it a shot. Excellent choice. My wife had a grouper excellently prepared by the chef and my New York Strip... More

Food was fresh and great tasting. Presentation was fabulous. The downside is we had to dress up and being on vacation was not something we really wanted to do but we wanted to go her so we did. Was also very expensive but you get what you pay for.

Thank you for taking time to visit Peninsula Grill during your vacation. I am thrilled that your experience was worth the extra effort of dressing for dinner. We are aware that many of our guests are visiting Charleston and during the summer months shorts and more casual attire are a must for touring the city. I beleive that taking the... More

AVOID Was staying at Planters Inn and wanted to dine at this highly rated, highly recommended and always crowded restaurant. 1. ordered tomato salad and beet special appetizer and it was spectacularly delicious and fresh expensive at 16.50 2. ordered pan seared carolina trout and the dish was two very small slivers of trout caked with a thick breaded coating... I am very concerned about the experience you are describing in this review. I am at a loss, we known in Charleston as the place to dine because of the experience that we offer. According to your review we failed at everything that we are known for. Our Cuisine is the cornerstone. Failing to impess with both entrees is an... More

Had wonderful food and service. Very energetic atmosphere. Lovely bar room. If you wanted a quieter dinner they have outside tables and also 3 booths in the bar area

Thank you for your visit to Peninsula Grill and for your wonderful review. As you state in your review Peninsula Grill does have a "energetic" dining room and bar. Depending on the time of year and the weather, courtyard dining can be as engaging and exciting. We have gained the reputation of being the place to dine in Charleston because... More

This restaurant is not trying to be trendy. It is doing what a restaurant like this does best, classic food and ultra professional service. Our food was wonderful from appetizers to the amazing coconut cake for dessert. It looks large, but is light and easily consumed, even after a large meal, even by my husband who doesn't usually like coconut... More

Our best meal while in Charleston. White linen service, wonderful presentation, excellent food and variety. They made it a point to serve every patron at their table at the same time.
