Packed our family in for a 50th Anniversary celebration, young and old alike. The upstairs dining room was perfect and service was outstanding. The management worked well with us on decorations and table settings. Especially tasty is the scored flounder. All the dishes were excellent and we were not rushed to finish and leave.

They took us in without a reservation on a busy nite. Our server was great and the food was delicious! Fun and romantic atmosphere.

Went with a large group (14 people). Understandable very difficult to seat, however, the tables were placed so close together that I was honestly uncomfortable. Waiter was a disappointment the entire time. He at one time, placed bread baskets on our table, then realized the other table would be paying the bill, proceeding to come back, take back the bread,... More

Invited my Mom to dinner a few days before Christmas. We had a wonderful evening. The restaurant was full but no noise issues for us. Manager seated us away from the windows when I mentioned that I was cold. We had a grilled octopus appetizer, she crab soup, Caesar salads and 2 different fish entrees. Everything was delicious. Service was... More

We did an anniversary dinner. We were treated super. Our waiter was understated and top shelf professional. The food was well prepared and pricey. The ambiance was a little loud for our tastes. Location adjacent to City Market and Carrige Tours.....center of historic scene.

My family visited Anson two days before Christmas. We had eleven in our party and had arranged for a private room upstairs. The entire meal was excellent! We tried several different appetizers and they were all amazing. Entree's were all great as well. The bone in ribeye was cooked perfectly. One of the best steaks I have had. The most... More

Sadly as I write this review Anson Restaurant is recovering from a kitchen fire. My last meal there was superb. My wife had the house specialty, pan seared Flounder, and I had pan seared Snapper over grits. Both dishes were excellent! We had planned on coming back just after the New Year but will have to wait until they rebuild.... More

The architecture of this restaurant seems so authentic and we enjoyed the experience and wonderful service and food so much. We really felt like pampered guests. Our dinner of Oysters on the half shell, Crispy flounder and Pecan Pie was ambrosia. The waiter did a great job of explaining the menu. We would like to return soon.

According to the local paper, there was a fire at the restaurant yesterday noon (Dec. 24th). It isn't yet know when the restaurant will reopen. This was rated solely to be able to submit the review.
