Great Low Country Cuisine

This is such a great and unexpected spot for amazing low country cuisine. Service is great and you have to try the chocolate pudding!

My wife and I had a late breakfast here yesterday, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Tucked away in an area not far from historic Charleston, the restaurant is wonderfully bright, with whitewashed walls and beautiful hardwood floors. The menu was fairly limited, maybe 10 items, but given that would have covered any taste from an egg and biscuit sandwich to... More

I had a wonderful week night dinner here in late February. I saw this place was featured on numerous Food Network shows, so I made sure to get a reservation. I was in town for business and came with two co-workers. Parking can be a challenge however thankfully a car was leaving when we arrived, so we were able to... More

We had lunch here on our way our way out of town, and loved it. I had the 4 course vegetable plate with cornbread and pecan pie. My wife had barbecued chicken with grits, and coconut pie. I wasn't wild about the pecan pie, but all else was beyond reproach. It's off the beaten path, and so worth the effort... More

Stopped here for breakfast. Atmosphere was good, service was good and food was great. Would hit this place again for breakfast the next time we are back in Charleston.

My wife and I went with friends who have been regulars for years. We found it to be a very pleasant experience. Our waitress was exceptionally pleasant (from Maine!) and well informed. In a sense, the core of the food is grits updated. It was well prepared and service was prompt. Overall, the food did not strike us as exceptional,... More

The place has charm but beyond that not so much. Parking is nuts ( I Know every city does) The wait wasn't so bad even though it was an hour. We stuck in there for what we have been told as the best there is to offer. lol So My wife ordered the shrimp n grits and I did the... More

This was an excellent choice. It is a little hard to find if you are not from the area so make sure to get directions from Google maps.

We waited for 1 hour. There were ten of us and the service was the only exceptional thing about the restaurant. I had the shrimp and grits, which were pretty flavorless. Amongst the group there was an assortment of items from pancakes to salmon cakes. The only thumbs up were bacon and biscuits. Sorry, Hominy Grill for this group of... More

This was my first trip to Charleston and I was brought here by locals who raved about it. I ordered The Country Breakfast two hard scrambled eggs, with hominy grits & rye toast with double-cut bacon. I also ordered a side of Home Fries. When I say that this was the BEST Breakfast I have ever had, I am in... More
