They have the best fried green tomatoes. Period. They're large, fresh, soft, crunchy--wow! The buttermilk pie is also amazing! The staff are friendly and ready to help, and take-out was fast. Highly recommended to me for good reason. Now I'm highly recommending it to you!

The Big Nasty was quality, but I don't think it lived up to the hype. Given it's popularity be prepared to wait quite a bit. All things considered, you should try it while in town. Service level was poor given the price point.

My friend took me there for a late lunch. We had Hot Red Pepper Jelly with Goat cheese and crackers. It was my first experience eating Southern food and I loved it. Great Hush Puppies served with sorghum butter (OhYUM!) We wanted to have Okra and Rice but they had meat in ti. So we had corn bread, squash casserole... More

Found this place several years ago, very good lunch for down home eating. The nasty biscuit is very good along with she crap soup. Great desserts.

We were visiting from CA and our B&B recommended Hominy Grill and thank goodness! It was absolutely packed when we visited, but were seated in about 15 minutes. Lots of menu selection and it was all great! The atmosphere wonderful, staff friendly and food oh-so-good! Try the chocolate mousse if you get the chance...AMAZING! I fell in love with Charleston... We both got the vegetable plate. Very good value for the money. All thechoices were good, but I especially liked the cornbread, squash casserole, and cauliflower soup. Service was fruendly and attentive. I see that others mentioned small serving. I thought they were very generous and I was quite full. I will be back!

Each time I stop in Charleston I am always delighted to find a new and tasty location. This restaurant was exactly that. Parking can be a little difficult with a one way street running parallel to the restaurant. Luckily on the side is a parking area, as well as, parking on the street. I ordered the chicken curry sandwich with... More

Theis was my first time for shrimp and grits; and we liked it so much, we went back to next evening and ordered shrimp and grits again. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Everything was fine at the Hominy Grill, and surprisingly, no wait. Parking would have been a challenge but we got lucky.

During our Charleston vacation, my family visited a different highly rated restaurant every night, and though possibly not the finest cuisine we sampled, this was my overall favorite! The food was delicious and creatively prepared, but not so unfamiliar that my teenagers had to Google everything on the menu before they ordered. We came with reservations on a rainy Tuesday... More
