After reading many great reviews about Hominy Grill we concluded that this was a must stop when in Charleston. It was our first time in that area and being from NJ we didn't know when we would get another opportunity, we might regret not going. Unfortunately the opposite happened. We did go, and we regretted it. This place is nothing... More

We had a mid afternoon lunch and sampled several items which gave us a great sampling of southern items. Tried the vegetable plate with fried grits, okra and tomato, collards and wonderful cornbread. Also loved the fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and okra beignets. Washed it all down with a couple of wonderful craft beers. A great break in... More

Excellent service, but the food was just mediocre. I had been there before for breakfast and lunch but we went for dinner and we won't be going back for dinner.

My husband and I tour the States to visit various restaurants on Man Vs. Food. This was such a great little place. You wait in a cute little courtyard, about 20mins and every minute another person came and was willing to wait. The place was packed, people waiting up and down the sidewalk, all happily waiting and socializing on a... More

Mom and I went to Hominy very excited because of all the buzz and awards. We ordered lunch, Hominy vegetable platter 3 sides+cornbread. Ended ordering a 4th side, which according to the menu would have only been $1.50 more. The bill came and we were charged $5.50--for 1 extra side!! Since we were stuffed, ordered a pecan pie to go.... More

We went to the Hominy Grill for a late breakfast and it was as good as we had heard it would be. Very homey and cozy, but with fantastic food. Even though it was only 9:30 in the morning, I had to try the Shrimp and Grits and I was so glad that I did. It was perfectly seasoned and... More

The restaurant was charming and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The vegetables were good and friend chicken was tasty. The shrimp and grits was the worst I have ever had. No flavor and no spices. All of the grits dishes were supposedly "cheese grits". I really don't think there was any cheese at all. None of us could... More

It is always a pleasure to eat here. We used to come here often when we lived over here. We went back after a couple of years The inside used to be cute and now, after the renovation (we hadn't been here since), it's even cuter (even if the outside has lost some of its "shabby chic" feel it used... I love this place. I had the she crab soup and nasty biscuit and both were so good! The sweet tea is delicious and cheap and the chocolate pudding was amazing!
