My friend and I went to Hominy on the suggestion of her neice. She was told to try the Shrimp and Grits. The restuarant was must more casual than I expected, but that is on me. Our waitress was excellent, as were the appetizers were ordered, fried green tomatoes, and one with okra. I ordered the catfish creole and very... More

We arrived on a Tuesday around 5:30pm & were seated immediately. We were happy to find onsite parking. Our server was really friendly & very helpful with the menu. We ordered the shrimp bog, nasty biscuit, collard greens & fried green tomatoes. The shrimp dish & the collards were excellent. The biscuit & corn bread were on the dry side.... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel and we weren't disappointed. Staff were helpful and accommodating and we each tried something from the menu that we hadn't had before, eg fried green tomatoes and catfish creole. They were delicious! I even bought one of their T shirts

Based on great reviews and Food Network points, my husband and I visited Hominy for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. Although I'm giving it 5 stars because it was DELICIOUS, the parking is awful. There's a small gravel lot with trees taking up half of it for around 10 cars, otherwise you have to street parking. It's not in the... More

Couldn't believe how rude they were. We checked in with the host and were told it would take 20 mins to get a table. We told them we would be using the restroom and we would be right back. We were gone 6 minutes and they gave away our table and moved us to the bottom of the list. That's... More

Casual atmosphere, friendly service, comfort food. Fried green tomatoes, and the "nasty" biscuit sandwich were exceptional. Good prices, too

As transplants to the Lowcountry, we visited Charleston for a few days to enjoy Christmas shopping and decorations. We started our visit at Hominy Grill for Sunday brunch. We really enjoyed the laid back but festive atmosphere--everyone seemed to be having a great time. I had their special pecan/banana pancakes and my husband enjoyed their "nasty chicken biscuit". We thought... More

On a Saturday afternoon, we had no problem getting a reservation for that evening. It was not loud and crowded and we enjoyed a very nice, quiet, un-rushed family meal. Some of the flavors used in various dishes were unique. We enjoyed sheepshead and flounder along with wide variety of tasty side dishes (greens, grits, limas beans, field peas, mashed... More

After looking for a place to eat during our recent visit to Charleston, we found Hominy. Since we were a party of 5 our wait was about 45 minutes. No need to be upset, it was worth it. Hominy does have you covered while you wait, they have a walk-up window to order drinks. Very clever! Three people in our... More
