Loved the place

Good food, good ambience loved the place. I like cocktails and their Mexican coffee was really good. Dishes we tried were shrimp and grits and Charleston nasty biscuit. Both were awesome. Am in love with the sausage gravy. You might want to reach early during a weekend. There was a 30 min wait... read more

Great service but disappointed with some of the food. The pancakes were not hot enough when served and the biscuits seemed dry. I'm not sure what everyone raved about as I found most of the food to be just OK at best. The bloody mary's were great! We ate outside as it was a lovely day. I did go inside... More

The weekend lines can be long for breakfast or brunch. But there is no nonsense nor any pretentiousness at this terrific ''anchor'' of Canonville, Charleston. The food is very good, the service is unfailingly friendly & professional. The value keeps me coming back! I like to bring my out-of-town friends and we are never disappointed. Those skeptical of shrimp &... More

Get here early - like when the doors open - or you will be waiting for a while to get a seat. Everything here is excellent, and if you do have to wait for a table you can get something hot to drink at the window to help keep you warm. A Charleston favorite for many.

I think this was one of the best brunches I have had in a very long time. Great eggs, grits and coffee. The place filled up pretty fast so I would suggest going early for a weekend brunch.

We were looking for some place to eat near the VA hospital after a recent appointment, so with the help of GPS found this place. It is close but a few twist and turns to get there. First place we've ever been to that brings out boiled peanuts with every meal. What a treat! They have something for those that... More

We went for Sunday brunch because my wife had heard good things about the breakfast. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. It was really below average. Basically just a bunch of canned beans. They should really remove it from the menu if that is the best they can do. My wife had the veggie and said it was very average. Same... More

I always worry when I try a TV “famous” place, but Hominy Grill sounded so good, I had to try it, and I was not disappointed. I went for brunch on a Saturday, and showed up 30 minutes before they opened. The manager turned on an outdoor heater for me and promised to get me in as soon as he... More

I've eaten here many times over the years. Always consistently excellent. Great for breakfast, lunch and brunch. Shrimp and grits are to die for. Awesome day boat fresh fish. It would be five stars except that they don't take reservations
