For all the hype, this restaurant serves mediocre food. I live here, and there are way better choices.

We went for bacon happy hour. Food was inventive and tasty. My favorite was the lettuce wraps, my husband's the wings. Drinks were also good. Good beer selection. Nice location on King.

One of our vendors took a group of us from work out to eat here. The service was good and we had a fairly large group. They have an unusual menu with some options I would not ordinarily choose but I did order the seared red snapper and it was probably the best prepared fish I have ever had.

Our hotel concierge recommended The Macintosh. It did not live up to its expectation. The bar was long and welcoming. One bartender was a little hyper and almost made me feel guilty for drinking. She needs to chill and slow down the pace. The dining area is super dark. The food portions were on the small side. The kale salad... More

After a short wait we were seated in the back courtyard area which was very pleasant and not as noisy as the main restaurant. Our server, Casey, was excellent. They make a special sausage each day and we were lucky enough to get the bacon cheeseburger sausage which was delicious. The gnudi appetizer was very good and the grouper entree... More

With all the choices availablein Charleston to eat, we chose the Macintosh as it was a place we had never been to before. What a wonderful experience. Had early reservations, as everything later was already booked..... so it lead to a quiet start to the evening. Great cocktail list to choose from. The dinner was perfect. Kale salad, Lamb bacon,... From the moment that we entered the restaurant to the moment that we left, everything was first class. Our server Britney was attentive, efficient and knowledgable and our food and wine excellent. My wife and I shared a delicious scallops appetizer and the Panna Cotta for dessert. In between these courses, I had wreck fish and my wife had trigger... More

We stopped at the bar before dinner, just in time for happy hour. The pork lettuce wrap appetizer was yummy and only $5, plus great drink specials. For dinner we had the duck and tilefish. The fish was a little dry, but the flavorful veggies it was served with made up for it. The service was also great at both... More

In a city filled with great restaurants, Macintosh can hold their own. Excellent service from Brooke and the specials were first class. Don't rush you out and bar and environment are lively. When they found out we were in town for our anniversary they brought out 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate .
