There must be a trend of converting old gas stations into restaurants because there are several in this area, but one of the best is Fuel. I always start with the Ho Cakes, a unique take on corn fritters you don't find elsewhere. Many of the other items we've tried have a Caribbean twist to them... read more

The outside area is by far my favorite downtown! It is also dog friendly which is great. The food is always great and they also have a Sunday brunch menu. The staff is friendly and usually pretty quick. If you like margaritas you have to try their Cadillac margarita which is really cheap during happy hour!

Go enjoy a nice walk to this delicious eatery. It used to be a gas station and still has lots of original fixtures. We had the most amazing fish tacos. We live in Raleigh NC and I can't wait to go back in a few weeks. We will eat here as often as we can during our trip. They have... More

We visited Fuel on Friday, January 3 after spending some time at Middleton Place plantation. We knew from our research that Fuel was previously featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. There was several entries on the menu that indicated they were featured on DDD. We were seated in a booth for 2 but there were seats at the bar, larger... More

We stopped at Fuel on Sunday and had lunch. It is an amazingly cool place. Love the lay out and the fact it was a real garage before becoming such a good place to eat. We started with the Ho Cakes. They were delicious. The presentation was very good also. Next my wife and I shared a Goat Cheese Salad.... More

We walked by Fuel after dining at Hominy (amazing too) and knew we had to come for dinner while we we're visiting. So glad we did! Started with the ho-cakes which had great flavors...spice but not too much. Next the pulled pork tacos which were stuffed with delicious juicy pork ( making me hungry for them again describing them). Later... More

Great little restaurant in an old gas station. Came in a Saturday night and it wasn't busy at all. Got the ho-cakes to start and they were delicious. We had the braised pork tacos and here chicken sandwich, both of which were delicious. We got sweet potatoe fries and Island rice for sides. Nothing special there but they were good.... More

This place won on a coin toss. We got the braised pork tacos with sweet potato fries and the jerk chicken sandwich with fried plantains. We split them so we could taste everything. There are no words to describe how good the food is. We will be sure to make a stop every time we are close.

We discovered this place on Triple D and knew we had to try it. It's an old gas station converted into this quaint hip restaurant. We started out with the Ho-cakes which were beyond tasty. I ordered the braised pork tacos and my husband ordered the jerk chicken sandwich. Both were very good. Such a great atmosphere, if I lived... More

After a suggestion from the B&B we were staying at we had to try this local restaurant which had been converted from a gas station to a restaurant and the fact Triple D had visited it. I had the Mahi Mahi Tacos- grilled with a sweet cabbage relish and a hint of chili sauce. Cooked to perfection and taste as... More
