Visitors to Historic Downtown Charleston who want to cool down from the low country heat should head to Wet Willie's, a bar that serves up 20 different frozen mixed drinks. As soon as you walk in the door you know that Wet Willie's isn't your typical establishment with a few blenders behind the bar. Wet Willie's features permanent frozen drink machines installed in a line behind the bar in rainbow of colors mixing up the bright drinks. It's like 20 giant Slurpee machines, except these machine are geared for adults. There is a non-alcohol "Weak Willie," for kids or those abstaining. The sugar-free Call a Cab and "Naked Willie" are sugar-free and carb-free and can also be mixed with any other flavors to any degree. You call it.

Good for younger crowd and those looking for a quick buzz

Wow! You only need one large drink to feel the difference between regular frozen cocktails and Wet Willies frozen cocktails. It was recommended by a local, if you are hot and tired of walking around town, just go in and you will feel cool after only one drink!

Wet Willie's is very well known for their strong, strong, strong frozen cocktails. You need to be careful drinking here! Their drinks are ridiculously great however and their appetizers are some of the best you will fine. If you want to have a few drinks and apps in a laid back and easy going atmosphere, then go here. If you like your drink served in a plastic cup for $7+ then this is good for you. Didn't have my first 2 choices although they were on the menu. Said they hadn't had them, but had not changed the menu Ugh! In Charleston I would consider this a "dive".

After college, some friends and I frequented a frozen-drink place called Fat Tuesday in Atlanta for a while. It has long-since closed, but there are a few successor locations still in operation. I had noted prior to arriving in Charleston that they had a WW franchise, and the first afternoon while exploring downtown I ran across it. I ducked in... More

Stopped into Wet Willies for an icy treat after walking around in the heat for a few hours. The drinks are strong and cold. The bar is large and not much to do but drink. The music was loud and the bartenders were friendly. Restrooms were clean.

The bartender let us sample a few of their slushy drinks before we ordered. Both bartenders were super nice, made us feel welcome, and were attentive through our visit.

If you need any kind of frozen drink, this is the place. I had a Bahama Mama (ok). We ordered nachos. They ended up too soggy and we were not served any silverware until we asked. Think plastic plates and silverware.

This place gives off a laid back beach bar vibe and offers just about any frozen drink combination you can think of! It's a great place to stop for a drink at any time of day, especially on a hot day.
