Just ate at O-Ku for a bachelorette party. Staff was great and extremely attentive. We even got free shots (Kamikaze-yum!) at the end of the meal to celebrate! GM came over to make sure we were well taken care of. Loved the decor and atmosphere was super fun. We had reservations, but were seated almost immediately. They do book up... More

We went with pretty high expectations on recommendations by our neighbor. Granted we have sat at some of the best sushi places in New York. Expecting top notch stuff we ordered the Omakase menu, we love to do this at the best sushi spots to allow the Chef to go nuts and give us the good stuff. We were not... More

My boyfriend and I visited O-Ku again for dinner on my most recent visit. The restaurant is lovely and located in the trendy King Street area. The sushi is tasty, but I find it extremely over-priced for the amount you receive. Desserts are delicious and the wait staff is attentive and kind. I think it's a good restaurant, but you... More

We went there on Thursday evening during "Happy Hour," busy place but, awesome atmosphere, mainly young crowd. Pre-book a table, highly recommended. Everything went extremely well, reception was friendly and professional. For occasional Sushi Lovers the menu required some recommendations, which the General Manger in his very active role happily offered! We had blast starting from Cocktails "Jasmanian Devil" over... Centrally located on King Street, O-Ku Sushi is a great place to leave the hustle and bustle of Charleston to enjoy some really good Sushi and Asian cuisine. The restaurant interior was well done, the food was creative and tasty. It was nice to see the General Manager taking an active, on the floor role in providing his customers with... More

My husband and I were visiting Charleston for a long weekend and were trying to find somewhere good and reasonably priced to eat when we came upon this place. It was FABULOUS if you like Sushi. I cant remember what the name of my roll was but it had crab, avocado, beets, carrots, and asparagus in it with salsa on... More

Very good sushi and Asian cuisine. The setting, in the heart of King Street foodville, is modern and airy. Lots of mirrors, exposed brick and wood floors. The servers are mostly young and cute, many from the College of Charleston nearby. There are a number of starters. We chose excellent miso soup, among the best we have had. We followed... More

We had reservations since we were a party of 6 in town for a bachelorette party! We were seated immediately and our server (Shea?) helped start us off with drinks and plenty of appetizers. We were very well taken care of, the menu was thoroughly explained and everyone had a great time! We didn't have to wait long in between... More

Visited o-Ku as for dinner with the facility. The place is energetic and busy. Service was good. The miso soup was well done with lots of flavor not just salt. sushi was very good and nicely presented. O-Ku has a modern uptown feel.

I moved from Tokyo to Charleston --- Oku is very good, fresh unique dishes but very "california" style. Not traditional Japanese. extensive menu beyond sushi. The gyoza very good. Shumai bit small. Miso hearty and rich by too salty. Great service. Very fun vibe. Extensive cocktail and bar.
