Very good sushi and Asian cuisine. The setting, in the heart of King Street foodville, is modern and airy. Lots of mirrors, exposed brick and wood floors. The servers are mostly young and cute, many from the College of Charleston nearby. There are a number of starters. We chose excellent miso soup, among the best we have had. We followed... More

We had reservations since we were a party of 6 in town for a bachelorette party! We were seated immediately and our server (Shea?) helped start us off with drinks and plenty of appetizers. We were very well taken care of, the menu was thoroughly explained and everyone had a great time! We didn't have to wait long in between... More

Visited o-Ku as for dinner with the facility. The place is energetic and busy. Service was good. The miso soup was well done with lots of flavor not just salt. sushi was very good and nicely presented. O-Ku has a modern uptown feel.

I moved from Tokyo to Charleston --- Oku is very good, fresh unique dishes but very "california" style. Not traditional Japanese. extensive menu beyond sushi. The gyoza very good. Shumai bit small. Miso hearty and rich by too salty. Great service. Very fun vibe. Extensive cocktail and bar.

We had reservations via Open Table for 5:30 on a Monday, because they have a 5-7pm Happy hour MWF, which includes half price sushi. It was also my daughter's birthday. Our server Jason was fantastic. We ordered based on his suggestions, and we're blown away by the unique take on sushi and sashimi that elevates the usual into the sublime.... More

I've been to this sushi restaurant several times. The sushi is perfectly fine, and the environment is very appealing. The waitresses and bartenders are very attractive and friendly. But the portion sizes that you receive are relatively small in comparison to other Sushi restaurants around town. And the prices for those portions are pretty high. If you are going to... More

Although our eel roll and rainbow roll were both delicious, our server's mind seemed a bit scattered. He forgot to bring our edamame before our rolls arrived and was slow to bring our beers. But putting that aside, this is a stylish venue and, with a bit more attention to service details, it would be a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

Oh my, one of my best meals ever. Now that could be that where I live offers little in the way of good sushi, but seriously, this place knew its stuff, had an incredible selection of both food and fun cocktails and had great service. Every wait staff we dealt with knew the menu inside and out and was enthusiastic... More

We have been many times and have never had a bad meal there. My husband is all for the nigiri and sashimi but I stay with the sushi rolls. Appetizers are abundant in portion and great. We always love the dumplings, and their new spicy shrimp salad is a great addition. WIne list is middle of the road but a... More

I do not eat salmon as a rule, however - they nailed it! This is some of the best sushi I have ever eaten and I highly recommend it. It is expensive but it is completely worth it!!
