OMG!

The first place we ate in Charleston and it was the best. The She Crab soup was the best (and we tried it at several restaurants!) Has a nice little spicey bite. The oysters are fresh and the best part was the Fried Green Tomato BLT! ( I tried it at another restaurant later in the week and this... read more

My wife and I started off with the house oysters which tasted of the sea. The very best she crab soup and a roasted beet salad followed. To finish off we shared a fried green tomato BLT. The atmosphere was typical for an oyster bar and the service was good.

I love oysters but get really frustrated when you go to a restaurant in the lowcountry and can't get local oysters. Amen Street has a wide variety of imports and local. I loved the salty, little oysters they called "Single ladies" served raw. They need no sauce, straight up is the best. I don't do fried food but I had... More

We were in the mood for oysters, and decided to try Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar recently. Typically we avoid our local downtown tourist/bar scene area where this restaurant is closely located. The time to visit is in the winter (slightly off season) though still a fair amount of visitors in town. The evening we went was starting to... More

Went for late lunch at suggestion of hotel staff as more of a place where locals ate. Here's my pros and cons Pros -shrimp fried corn dogs tasty -great location -nice atmosphere -cool looking bar - cool looking art Cons -green fried tomatoes bland -house oysters ok, looked scrawny - odd taste to shrimp and grits; different type of grits... This cafe was recommended by our tour guide for she crab soup. She was so very right. It was delicious. We also had some fried oysters that were wonderful. The atmosphere is clean, crisp, withheld time style. I loved the oyster shell light shades. I'd eat there again, on another trip to Charleston.

We stopped in for lunch on a very cold January day. Amen's decor is classic bistro--it's warm and inviting and provides plenty of natural light. The fish of the day can be prepared in 5 different ways, but there's so much more to choose. I was blown away by the Shrimp Corn Dogs and ended up having a second order... More

After taking a guided walking tour, our leader suggested this restaurant along with a few others. So glad we went to Amen Street Fish and Raw Bar.
