We dined here last time we were in Charleston three years ago. I'm happy to write that the food is still amazing. The restaurant has a good ambiance and charm. We started with some raw oysters and she crab soup. Our server added sherry to the soup and it was fantastic. My wife ordered grilled tuna and I ordered shrimp... More

We were craving raw oysters and boiled shrimp and they fit the bill. Good service. I also enjoyed the she crab soup. My wife had the shrimp and grits which was tasty.

The food was absolutly nothing special. The service was quite average. The ambience though was very nice. Dont come to this restaurant expecting great food.

The food was just okay. Not really worth the price. Nothing was really great. Wouldn't recommend or come back. The fish was very fresh, ambience was good, and oysters were nice, but nothing would really bring me back. There was no wow factor. I would go somewhere else.

Started out with the oysters which were tasty. Unfortunately they were out of VA oysters....the best. Had the shrimp & grits which were definitely the best I have had so far in Charleston. The sauce with tomatoes and ham made the grits so yummy. Others had the salmon and crab cakes which they loved. Too full for dessert.

Every meal we've eaten in Charleston has been very good but this has been the best so far. Fresh ingredients that have been well prepared in dishes that allow them to shine. The Hog Snapper was absolutely outstanding done as it was Hoppin' John style and the shrimp and grits was tasty and homely. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and... More

Service was great, drinks were a little bland but we loved the atmosphere. Great ambiance and music. We came here twice in the evenings just to relax. My husband ordered the oysters rockefeller (which he loves) and he thought they were quite good. That's the only food we tried. We would go again just for the atmosphere!

More restaurant environment vs bar-like atmosphere. Kid friendly with good service. Shrimp was lightly fried and very tasty, oysters out the wazoo, fish tacos are a must! Would go back again. Charleston has numerous establishments but Amen Street is worthwhile. Would recommend to others and will return when in SC.

Had a great meal at AS Raw Bar. Started off with the she crab soup, which is the best I have ever had. Followed this with a dozen raw oysters, also fresh and delicious. Fried green tomatoes were just OK. Mussels were good, broth could use some work. I enjoyed the wines on tap. Overall, good experience, would return...worth checking... More
