Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

A local referred us this restaurant with the promise we would find fresh oysters and locally caught fish. The night we went they only had 4 fish selections two of which are farmed. We had eaten at other restaurants in Charleston which didn't claim to be seafood with more fresh local fish selections. No excuses. They had farmed salmon, farmed... More

The highlight was the she crab soup, as it was some of the best I've had I thought my swordfish was well prepared, although the pickled okra that was came with it was the best part of the dish. Attentive bar staff and although I didn't opt for oysters that evening, everyone around me who had them thoroughly enjoyed them.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and it was a winner. It was just what we were looking for...high quality food, seafood and Southern favorites, in a casual yet warm and inviting kid friendly environment...whew! How about that for a request! This place fit the bill. There was a 30 minute wait on a Saturday night. We had oysters, she crab... More

While in Charleston we stopped by Amen Street for an early oyster and drinks pre-dinner snack. We actually stayed for a lot longer as they had excellent oysters and the happy hour drinks specials were great. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the décor and really enjoyed the oysters and apps. We enjoyed the oysters and shrimp and grits but thought the drinks were a bit stingy for the price compared to other restaurants in Charleston. Our server Frances was friendly and helpful.

We went here for a light lunch and had the fried green tomato appetizer and the she crab soup. Both were very good. The menu items were numerous and had we been hungrier, a good place to eat a full meal, just judging by the food we had there. Our server, Josh was very friendly as well as professional.

The food wasn't disappointing just not worth the price. We went in for dinner after earlier seeing what turned out to be the lunch menu. Prices went up significantly after dark and many of the items from the lunch menu were not offered.

Thank you for dining with us at Amen Street. We are disappointing that our dinner selections and pricing did not meet your expectations on your visit. We do have a different menu for lunch, that offers a different variety of choices that you may enjoy too. We hope that you will come back and try us out for lunch sometime! More

We tried this restaurant for a late night dinner and liked it so much we went back for lunch another day.
