Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

In a city with an abundance of good restaurants, this one stands out. The dishes are very well prepared, the portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. Our waitress was excellent and we enjoyed the meal. This was a particularly pleasant experience in light of our terrible adventure at the Social Restaurant across the street. Perhaps the only... Stopped for raw oysters and lunch. We dined outside. Oysters were ok. Seared fresh fish preparation rather bland. Fried shrimp good. Bloody Mary very good. The service was very slow...

Recommended by our tour guide and surpassed my hopes. Calamari were large, tender and first time I've seen the breading stick. The dipping sauce was also delicious. Split the appetizer and Caesar salad for a perfect meal. Tasted the she crab soup that was also delicious. Wish it was near our home! Cost was about 20$/person but included beverages.

We are so glad you enjoyed the Crispy Jumbo Calamari (the lemon aioli on top is my favorite part too). Have a safe trip home and we look forward to serving you in the future. More

Amen is a good restaurant for a nice fish dinner. You can dine inside or out. We wandered in without reservations, early and were seated right away. Place got busier after 6pm. Fish was fresh.

We sat outside and enjoyed the street life and split the "beet" salad, had the fabulous lobster shrimp risotto - make sure to leave room for dessert!

Our attendant at the rental car company suggest Amen to us, and we were NOT disappointed! For our first night in town, we couldn't have asked for a better introduction into the southern food culture and hospitality. The shrimp and grits were delicious and the fried oysters were phenomenal!

The oysters. First dozen small and so so. They are less money but I would go for the $10 more and order Select. Second dozen way way better. Bloody Mary pretty good. The bar is fun and crowded at lunch time and after. First come, first serve. The bartender was very very busy but held his own. It's a noisy,... More

This is the third time I've dined here in as many years. I visit Charleston, a world-class destination, because my daughter lives and works here in the hospitality industry. Amen Street has excellent, friendly service, beautiful seafood, especially the raw bar, and the food is beautifully presented. The ambiance is great: we've been here for lunch only, and even if... This was my second time dining here while visiting Charleston. Two of us sat at the bar on a recent Sunday night. It was fun to watch the friendly guys shuck the oysters while sitting at the bar. It was our last night in Charleston and after eating low country food several times, we both just wanted a burger. Our... More
