Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

We were looking for a seafood restaurant for a Sunday lunch. Our hotel recommended this place. They did not open till 11:30 and we did a bit of shopping in the nearby Market St. Shops. The wait was rewarded by great fresh oyster from Canada and local source. The black grupper was also excellent. We also ordered hush puppies .... More

My wife and I made reservations here for a Friday evening dinner. We showed up about 15 min early but the hostess sat us right away. The service was great and very timely, and if not for my poor choice of adventure the meal would have been perfect. I had the fried platter, and I should have gotten the "all... More

We have been to Amen St. Fish before so our expectations were high. There is a Happy Hour during the week with drink and other specials. We tried the fried green tomatoes and the calamari steak. Both were quite tasty. The calamari edged out the fried tomatoes only because it had more complex flavors. For dinner we had the fried... More

First date night I a long time, while on vacation and this was a let down. They were out of things we ordered and substitutions were made with out asking, "figured it was ok." Ordered the she crab soup to try and it never showed up yet was on the bill. Food was over priced for the quality. Not what... More

We were looking for an early dinner while on a day trip to Charleston and found this gem on East Bay. Nice casual place but with a touch of class. We ordered the fresh catch and it was prepared to order. Both meals were excellently presented and flavorful. Service was excellent. Highly recommend while visiting this great city.

We enjoyed our evening at Amen. We started with cocktails, including mojitos that got good reviews and my cucumber-infused gin and Pimm's concoction, which was delicious. We had some oysters on the half shell, the local South Carolina selection, recommended by our waitress. Again, delicious, medium-sized, very flavorful. Our group ordered, among us, the crab cakes, black grouper, prepared two... More

Arrived for lunch around 1:15. The hostess seated us after a couple of minutes waiting for her to clear and set a table. It was pretty busy, but a 45 minute wait seemed long for our two meals. Everyone else was waiting a long time as well. Maybe they were short-handed. I had the she crab soup, and it was... More

Darn, we really were looking forward to this meal. It was ok, nothing special however. Its loud, maybe good for a family. I would say not for a couple or foodies. sorry :( The service was great, just not up to par with the other spots we ate ate. (Blossoms, Halls, Ordinary,Ritas).

Firstly, we went there for She-Crab Soup - and were NOT disappointed: It was delicious - get it! But then we tried the Shrimp Corn Dogs, Tuna Tacos, Peel & Eat Shrimp... Everything was either great or awesome to our table of reviewers. My dish was the Shrimp Po Boy, which I think might have been the perfect Shrimp Po... More

I had a late lunch of fish on curry and fantastic she-crab soup. Everything was reasonably priced, truly excellent, well-presented, served in a pleasing atmoshpere. I will certainly return!
