A bustling steak house where the owners greet you from the moment you step foot in the door. They take southern hospitality to the next level with high quality service and food. Turns out they get their steaks from Illinois, just like the Chicago steak houses, but the side order of shrimp and grits reminds you that you’re in the... More

I have dined at several fine dining restaurants however Halls is a cut above the rest. The staff is amazing which only compliments the absolute best food I have had. We split the sea scallops entree as an appetizer and it is delicious however I must say, the dry aged steak is the reason to come here. If you enjoy... More

My wife and I dined at Hall's during a recent Charleston vacation for anniversary celebration. Upon entering we were greeted by Billy who quickly welcomed us into the restaurant and quickly whisked us away to the host stand. We were quickly taken upstairs to a large booth which was roomy yet private. The ambiance in the restaurant was great from... More

It was our first time at the restaurant, and we were greeted by the owner. We were told by a taxi driver that the owner was at the restaurant every night greeting his guests. What a nice touch! All staff members were friendly and attentive. We did not have to wait long. Food was fabulous. Try their fried green tomatoes... More

Very good. Not great. Their best compliment is their friendly welcoming. We felt immediately at home. The waitress was helpful and suggested we split sides down to half portions because we wanted to try so many different ones (we split four half portions and enjoyed it! -- Mac N Cheese probably beat out the skillet corn) My chief complaint was... My husband and I have dinner here each time we come to Charleston now. We were here on New Year’s Eve. I was so disappointed; I had gotten the flu but was feeling better. I am a vegetarian, my husband is not. Halls has a great mushroom risotto. I was really looking forward to this dinner. My husband did ask... More

I booked this restaurant online back in Scotland after reading the reviews. Didn't even do it justice, I feel myself gushing as am writing this, it was that good. We visited Halls Chophouse as part of our silver wedding trip to the states. We visited NYC, Savannah, NORA and San Francisco. We took the train from Savannah to Charleston for... More

We absolutely loved our first experience at Halls Chophouse! We were greeted from the moment the doors opened to the restaurant by the owner and all other family members. They welcomed us, got everyone's names, walked us to our table, even checked on everyone in our party several times throughout our meal. The food we ordered was amazing and top... More

I was seriously impressed with the quality of the service at this restaurant. From greeting the owner at door to the final goodbye, this was the most hospitable experience I have had anywhere in the world. The steaks were very good, and the menu had a wide selection of types of food. Not just your average steakhouse. Would most definitely... More

Yes, this is on the pricey side -- but if you want a great steak then splurge here. The sides are enough for four. We ordered the Pepper Jack Cream of Corn (SUPER FANTASTIC) and the Parmesan Truffle Fries (Yummy). The Filet and New York Strip was dee-licious.
