Love this restaurant so much I ate dinner here on Saturday and lunch on Sunday. Fantastic food!! Alluette, Kenny and her daughter were friendly and engaging. I enjoyed eating the following over two days----Lima bean soup, seafood stew, grilled turkey burger, Oprah's fried shrimp yummy homemade fries, cole slaw and pound cake. Go and relax knowing your food is cooked... More

Visited Aluette's this week for an early Monday night dinner. Wonderful food. Had a lovely chat with Aluette. It's a small, UNpretntious place. No, it's not a snazzy place. But it's GOOD, fresh food. We had humus, Lima bean soup and shrimp. Just lovely and very nice to meet Aluette and her daughter.

This place is way to overpriced for what it is. The portions are small and the ambiance depressing. Our dishes were all way overpriced and on the small side. Left feeling hungry. Too bad we wasted a meal here. Stay away and go someplace else.

The people writing even average reviews for this place must have blistered taste buds. See also the review by a local, who aptly calls this out as misguided hype. My wife pulled us into this place based upon something she had read. She will never hear the end of my complaints! Even before entering the place, I had a negative... More

We arrived and were seated right away. the menu was short and the prices high. I should have been tipped off when I saw a dish pan collecting water from a leak in the roof or AC right in front of the cash register. The food was supposed to be organic. Well, it was just tasteless in general and things... More

The black bean burger was absolutely delicious, and I love their cookies as well. But my gosh, the blk bean burger came to $17.38 by itself!! I don't think I can get myself to spend that much on any sandwich, no matter how good

If you are visiting Charleston, South Carolina and are desirous of healthy, delicious food, then you must visit Alluette's Cafe. Please do not expect a spacious, modern restaurant. Alluette's does not need all of that because her reputation for organic, with vegan and/or gluten free options precedes her. Mr. Lester, the chef, was the onsite chef when we visited this... More

My wife and I, both vegetarians, stopped in based on positive reviews. We opted for outdoor seating to enjoy the nice weather. It was pleasant outside but the patio is not well kept so only sit there if you really want to enjoy alfresco dining. The service was fine but could have been a bit more attentive. My wife ordered... If you can make friends with a slow, caring approach to preparing healthy food, this place is for you. We came to lunch around 1:30 - after the Gullah Tour - and there were several customers ahead of us, so Alluette took care of them first. though we were very hungry when the food arrived, it was worth the wait... My family arrived for a late lunch. This restaurant is "in the cut" and I would not have found it without the help of my niece. We were greeted by the owner and shown to our seats. We looked at the menu and ordered. While waiting we all had a glass of wine. We were not in a hurry so... More
