My wife found this place on a tourist map. She wanted to take the kids there since they are into Pirates and all. Hey, its a vacation lets do it! I was very surprised by the quality of this place. From the draft beer selection to the menu choices. Our waiter was "weak" and I will not let that ruin... more

This is a nice restaurant, and seems to be well run. I was looking forward to it after reading some of the reviews here, but the kitchen is absolutely its weakest link, and that's why I go to a good restaurant. I was there on a Saturday evening, early enough to beat the crowd. It had been a number of... more

Perfect spot! Great food at reasonable prices. Service was very good and the atomosphere is very neat! I love the pirate memorabelia! Try the sweet potato chips... yum. Also, pecan encrusted chicken was yum. more

While in South Carolina for a conference, we found The Buccaneer's review on Tripadvisor and decided to try it out. What a great place! My family loves a theme, and this place is all theme. Walking down the cobblestone street to get to the entrance will put you in the mood. Happily, the great food stands out as much as... more

We were in Charleston for three nights, and lucked on The Buccaneer the first night. It's in Faber Street, a little alley just east of Bay and just south of Cumberland. We had the mussels appetizer and shrimp and grits. Truly outstanding. The grits were _so_ creamy. We had to skip dinner Friday to make a comedy show. And for... more

Ate here on 10/31 during a day trip. The atmosphere was great, with the pirate theme & atrifacts on the walls. The menu was varied, with various ways to cook the seafood - a nice change from everything fried or broiled. We had no compliants with any of the food, and our waiter was very attentive. The music was a... more
