Easter Sunday Brunch....

Would have given 5 stars, if not for the spotty service. I kept in mind that it WAS Easter Sunday. While I waited for my table, I sat at the bar. It was a late reservation, service was almost over and the place was winding down. Really nice. Quaint ambience. It is a full bar, except on... read more

The food was ok but service could have been better. We saw our male server go outside smoke a cigarette play in his long hair and we don't think he wash his hands. Males with long hair should be handling food. We split our checks and he gave us all our wine and beer for free. Great for us but... More

We first visited Virginia's for a Sunday brunch and everyone was so pleased with their choices. I chose shrimp and grits and it was great. The grits were actually a grit cake and the shrimp was in a creamy bacon sauce. My daughter had eggs inside a french toast and it was also really good. On our next trip to... More

My sorority has a sisterhood retreat every so often and as part of our package price, they include a group lunch. This year, we went to Virginia's on Kings. We received vouchers worth $18 towards our meal and we would be responsible for anything over that. This was reasonable as most items on the menu were $12 or less. We... More

I've had shrimp and grits in many places. On my first trip to Charleston I decided to try something new, fish and grits. What I received was a scoop of lumpy grits with four strips of some kind of fish. That was bad enough but the "Virginia's macaroni and cheese" took the cake. If you have ever made mac &... More

Server was a bit of a smart aleck. We split fried oyster spinach salad. Had to ask for more dressing. Servers response not friendly. Brought dressing and set on table without a word or apology. We were charged $2.99 for a sharing fee.

We arrived around 11:30 and happened to beat the lunch rush crowd. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and was quite busy at the noon hour, but our food was just average. I had the broccoli, ham & cheese quiche of the day and the hubs had a shrimp po boy. His sandwich had a total of two shrimp on... More

This restaurant is all hype and no delivery. Our table and the two next to ours all sent the food back. I expected great things from the restaurant but it wasn't even close enough to give it a second chance.

Wifey and I dined here a couple of evenings ago on a stopover in Charleston. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Historic and Virginia's is only a block away so we took a chance. The decor is very charming and the service was very friendly and helpful. The menu is somewhat limited. I had the blackened Mahi over polenta with... More

I was out for dinner with two friends tonight. We decided, after browsing the menu, to try Virginia's on King. There are so many menu options that sound excellent. When we arrived, it took fifteen minutes to even be greeted by the server. I wish I could remember her name. There were only nine tables occupied in the dining room,... More
