Lots of homemade desserts, fantastic salads and sandwiches. Love their take on a croque monsuieur with the grape dip.

The scones and one type of cookie were good and tasted fresh. I suspect much of the food was leftover portions of dessert or breakfast rolls. Whoever heard of a full tea with toasted sandwich halves. Probably 8 to 10 full sandwiches for two people.Real teas have small triangle fresh bread tea sandwiches. We had to ask for the Devonshire... More

Maybe it's because it looks charming with an inviting porch... maybe because it's conveniently located on Calhoun St. at the very end of the Thursday Farm Market... but whatever the reason, this restaurant does not deserve the overall near excellent rating reflected on Trip Advisor. My group of four stopped here at around 11:30 a.m. on a Thursday, and I'm... More

I've been to the "Cottage" several times for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Although I like the idea of the old, quaint, bakery-cafe, my experiences bring mixed feelings. Most of the meals have been very good with a gourmet presentation, tasty breads and a great flounder almondine for dinner. My disappointment comes in the desserts, which look so good in the... More

Food is delicious and the restaurant is located in the eclectic Calhoun Historic District. We ate on the front patio and I loved every minute. :-)

The Cottage is almost everything it is to be trying to be. It has quaint lowcountry curb appeal, on a beautiful little street. Parking can be very difficult at times. I get the feeling they are trying to be gourmet-ish they try to hit the mark but quite often they miss. The menu is fairly small and a bit pricey.... More

This place is awful! The worst place in town! First they only seat you in tables of two if you're a couple, they're even rude about it! Then the service and food is the absolute worst! If you can't get breakfast right, then you should close your doors. Save your money and go someplace friendly and worthy of your presence.... More

Once upon a happy visit, we looked forward to our monthly visit to the cottage. Upon today's visit, we brought family--including a toddler. The first thing we did was to look at the kid menu--a lot of seemingly good choices. We chose peanut butter & jelly with "fruit"--optimistic. Then to choose our meals--I chose a basic chicken pot pie, my... More

After moving to area 2 months ago, we have just found The Cottage in old town Bluffton. It was a thoroughly delightful experience, enhanced by our very outgoing and eager to offer suggestion waitress! The Bee's Nest appetizer special was a taste treat. Our three mains were all done superbly. Though this was for dinner (only open Thurs, Fri, &... More
