Delicious Small Plates in an Upscale but Casual Setting

Decided to have the small plates, as we were not overly hungry. Loved the tuna tartare and the Kobe sliders, as well as delicious cocktails. Interesting urban-type setting, with warm Southern service. Great dessert choices, too.

We really enjoyed Breakwater. Highly recommend the Charcuterie appetizer. The chicken liver pate was smooth as silk. My husband had the waygu beef burger and it was fantastic and I had the lamb burger which was phenomenal. I wouldn't recommend the calamari, but otherwise it was a home run experience!

Went for a birthday and reserved the wine room. Great food and atmosphere. Really enjoyed being able to close the curtains and have some fun!

One of the best places in Beaufort for an evening out! A very urban setting in the Lowcountry. If you're not looking for a full meal, they have great small plates in the bar - highly recommend the Tuna Tartare!!! They also make a mean Mojito.

We chose Breakwater after being turned away from another restaurant and told "they just didn't have room for us" that evening. I am so glad they did! Breakwater was wonderful. All the staff were very friendly and we were greeted with enthusiasm, immediately made to feel welcome and wanted. We arrived early and since our table was not quite ready... More

The menu is great, as is the wine list, the food is well prepared, and the service is great. The six of us all had something different, and each dish was tasty and well-presented.

We had reserved a table at 8 pm and was a litte concerned when we approached the restaurant. The building looks like an industrial building but looks deceive. Inside was a modern looking dining room with great decor if you like the modern simplistic design. We got very exited. And we were not disappointed. We have an awesome salat followed... More

We have been to Breakwater several times and it never disappoints. This is a great spot for date night. Good selection off the drink menu and the calamari is delicious. Very relaxing upscale environment.

We celebrated our 27th anniversary at Breakwater last night. Great food and service. The tile fish was excellent, the sauce was unbelievable. Loved the butter bean hummus we had as a starter. Overall a great evening.

We had a delicious meal made up of small plates, and I would go back in an instant. The Kobe sliders were delicious, and the chocolate lava dessert (not really a lava cake, but more like a melted chocolate cupcake) was divine. A really memorable meal, and the service was terrific.
