First I want to say that our server was friendly and attentive, and definitely the bright spot of our visit. But from there it went downhill in a hurry. The decor is cheesy nautical, very tacky and had a run-down feel. The wooden booths are without cushions/upholstery and not at all comfortable. The complimentary hushpuppies were nothing but fried floury... More

Lovely people supporting the troops are here! We went to pack bags for the troops, which happens several times a month. We had a few drinks but didn't get dinner as we had eaten on the base. It smelled great though. Gotta love a place that supports the troops!

Went to this place this evening for the first time. Wife and daughter had the blackend mahi mahi and i had the bucket of crab legs, clams, shrimp and sausage. Mahi Mahi was over cooked on both dishes my bucket of crab was also so over cooked I was unable to even eat it. Clams were dirty and gritty and... More

We always try to find some kind of restaurant that we can't go to at home. I read the reviews on this before we came and it was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere was great. My husband ordered the steam pot! Said it was awesome! The broth that it's made in is so good! I had Grilled and fried shrimp. The... More

Gilligan's Steamer and Raw Bar, Charleston SC Visited Gilligan's per Hawthorne front desk staff recommendation on our first night (Friday, November 28, 2014). The place is sort of hard to find and its located off the main road in a not well lit location in a shopping strip. The place was packed; however, we didn't wait long for our table.... More

Ate at Gilligans because they run the SAMS program for Marine Graduation. Staff very friendly but scattered. Servers at times no place to be found and had to be asked several times for something, like a tartar sauce. Food was OK, nothing special. Much better seafood back home in NJ.

Was in town for a funeral at the National Cemetery (just down the same road) and wanted a seafood place to have lunch with friends. This is a really good Gilligan's. We've tried other ones and this is by far the best. Our waitress was very attentive and we enjoyed our visit. We had the potato skins as an appetizer... More

From the moment we walked in, there was someone to seat us. After being seated, he asked what we would like to drink. Drinks very quickly arrived and she was ready to take our order. I had the mahi-mahi and my husband had the low country entree. My mahi was very tender and flaky and his was very good also.... More
