What a great meal. My wife and I boated to Beautiful Beaufort SC recently and had a wonderful time. We are both foodies who live in Charleston. She is glad to tell you she is 100% Italian and I can attest a wonderful cook. The Griffin Market was a hook up by a local who said we wouldn't be disappointed.... More

Not sure what Toronto is talking about, but Griffin Market is the closest experience to Piemonte, Italy you will get this side if the Atlantic! Laura's culinary expertise and Riccardo's superb knowledge of wine is unmatched. If you are looking for an authentic, Italian experience, this is it. I love the fact that they don't rush you. Courses are perfectly... More

If you're going to tell people when they may eat bread or have cheese and pepper and olive oil with their meal, you'd better make sure the meal is an exquisitely crafted and curated tour-de-force that won't soon be forgotten. Yes, this restaurant has a disclaimer at the bottom of the menu telling patrons that they'll only get Parmesan or... More

We purposely stopped in Beaufort on the long drive north from Florida to New England -- just so we could return to Griffin Market. We had enjoyed an unexpectedly excellent meal there two years ago. If anything, the food is even better than we remembered. Primi: The Vitello al tonnato -- thin veal topped with creamy tuna sauce was excellent... More

I was completely disheartened with my experience at the Griffin Market on Friday March 14, 2014. Reservations were made for our party at 7:30pm to celebrate my birthday; our party of five arrived promptly on time and was seated immediately. We were served water, handed menus and were advised that they were out of the crostini. This is where the... More

We found the Griffin Market to be very interesting. The staff was friendly, the decor was sparse and the menu was limited. The menu listed rules such as "bread is only served with the antipasto", "no separate checks", " a $35.00 cookage fee" if you dared to bring your own wine! The selections we made were very good and the... More

My wife and I stopped in Beaufort, South Carolina to break up a longer journey to Florida on Saturday, 15 March 2014. A highly recommended restaurant in Beaufort was Griffin Market. The co-owner/sommelier/waiter/hostess, Riccardo, met us at the bar and was very friendly. He said take any available table. Exceptionally trained support was provided by a service person that bussed... More

What a surprise to find the best of Piedmont in the quintescential South Carolina town of Beaufort. Laura cooks and Ricardo runs the front of the house. The couple serves exceptionally good food from one of our favorite parts of Italy. Everything was more than we hoped for.

We made a reservation to celebrate a birthday (because we've been there before and had enjoyed the food). We arrived on time and were seated immediately. We received water and menus right when we sat down, but after that, no one came to take even a drink order for 25 minutes. There were two servers who had enough idle time... More

From start to finish all of us had a great meal. We enjoy Sunday night at Griffin Market because of their tasting menus. Good selection of choices and the food is always very good.
