As always, our reviews are (solely) based on our personal tastes/experiences and are never meant to persuade/dissuade anyone from patronizing a business. While attending a recent festival in the charming city of Beaufort, SC, my old "sweet-tooth" kicked in.......just had to have some Ice Cream. Taking a referral from one of the locals', we headed off to Southern Sweets Ice... More

We love Southern Sweets. Great ice cream served in a way that takes you back to your childhood. Friends at first sight. You can tell they want you to enjoy yourself. They make sure that every one of you is taken care of every time. Have a handmade sundae served in a glass flute at the counter. It is a... More

Inside one of the little walkways you will find a wonderful old time ice cream parlors. My husband returned several times for their egg creams a delight not often found anymore. Plenty of seating and plenty of delicious flavors to choose from.

I wanted to stop in here since I'd read such good things about it on Tripadvisor. One hint, park on Port Republic. The shop is located in a breezeway that cuts from Bay Street to Port Republic. I was there on a busy Sunday afternoon and couldn't find any place to park on Bay but had plenty of options on... More

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. We ended up splitting a sandwich and indulged in an ice cream afterwards. I highly recommend the Hunting Island Sea Turtle sundae. I also enjoyed the fountain drink. The ladies working the counter were very friendly and make a fantastic cherry coke!

It is an ice cream parlor with an old fashioned style. The reason it gets a five star rating from me is the girl behind the counter. Friendly and accomodating. A refreshing change from the 'hurry up and order' style in so many places

It was so good we went twice! My husband is a butter pecan man and it was perfectly salty and sweet with huge pecans! The first time I had the sea turtle sundae and it was outstanding with homemade whip cream. The second time had mint chocolate chip which was good but the praline and cream was outstanding! Home made... More

We took a day trip to Beaufort and stopped at Southern Sweets for some ice cream during a day of shopping on Bay Street. Our kids had single scoops, and my wife an I shared a brownie sundae. The kids gave the ice cream a thumbs up, and our sundae hit the spot. We liked the atmosphere with its traditional... More
