Quiet relaxing evening

My wife described the decor of the restaurant as a "bit frilly". It suggests it might be a quiet place to dine, and so it proved on a recent Thursday night - none the worse for that. For mains, we had respectively scored flounder and crab stuffed grouper. Both excellent, although she felt the... read more

First off , I have to mention the service we recieved was exceptional! We were seated and immedietly served hot , delcious pop overs with the most yummy strawberry creamy cheese spread. The food was totally on point, We especially enjoyed watching the Chef create ( & I,'m not kidding ) the best egg white omlete I'v ever had.) He... More

My wife took me there for my birthday. It is right across the street from another favorite Beaufort restaurant, Emily's. The restaurant itself is a classic Victorian. I had the shrimp & grits and they were excellent, not an overwhelming amount of grits as is often the case with that dish. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. Please be aware... More

Whenever we are in Beaufort it is a "given" that we will eat at least one dinner at Southern Graces. The food is always excellent, the ambiance is pure southern charm - laid back and cozy - and the service is friendly and attentive. Our waitress, Ashley, took excellent care of us and made sure we enjoyed our time there... More

Four of us visited Southern Graces today for lunch and all those great reviews are nothing but the truth! We started with a wonderful popover with strawberry butter followed by she crab soup. Then we had a Cobb vertical , a burger , shrimp and grits and mahi mahi fish tacos. Sorry but no one was willing to share, but... More

How can a chef overcook a filet mignon? Anathema! Two of four filet mignons overcooked ,no color except dark tough meat. Knives were requested to be able to cut meat. Husband not wanting to make a scene exchanged his brides meat with his as she could not chew meat with ease. Spoke with chef who pretended to be concerned and... More

One of the best, if not the best fish dinners. Started out with the popover, light, airy, and warm, which were as big as the bread plate. I had the crispy scoured flounder, which was served whole and cooked to perfection. My husband had the crab stuffed grouper, which was also very tasty. We would return to Beaufort just to... More

We've been there a few times before. Went on a Thursday night and the place was not busy. The service was outstanding. The she crab soup was good, but not the best we've ever had--but still quite tasty. Our entrees were perfectly prepared and very good. The dessert (a small chocolate brûlée, a small piece of strawberry cake and a... More
