Friendly staff and owner who care about their customers. Menu is a mixture of traditions and fun different choices. They are hard working and their love for the community shows in their conversations with their customers.

Always a good bet to eat at Van Ghent. The best crepes in the state. All foods are excellent quality, a homy atmosphere and pleasant waitstaff and owner. Try it. You'll like it!!

Although it's only open on Wednesday through Sundays, it is worth the wait. Their selection of crepes is great and their ingredients seemed fresh.

Rarely are we in the Westerly area for breakfast but we were right downtown on an early Sunday morn and had a very good breakfast here. Fairly small place with what looked like just 1 waiter and the cook but they did well. Coffe was piping hot and freshly brewed, they refreshed our water glasses 5 or 6 times, their... More

If you like Belgian waffles and crepes, this restaurant is for you. They are authenic waffles so a little crunchier than those you make in a waffle iron at home, but nice taste. And who doesn't love a nice crepe with fruit, or for a luncheon sandwich specialty. I think the lunch one I tried was lemon chicken. I may... More

Great sandwiches and crapes. Only one cook on so the food was slow to come out although the quality and presentation made up for that. Would go back again.

I was scared when I first walked in, because I thought the amount of tables being waited on would impact the serving time. I was delightfully proven wrong! The coffee came quickly and tasted superior to the coffee from most other breakfast places I've frequented. Understanding that food made with the freshest of ingredients can take a while, I was... The old location and owners had an excellant breakfast . Today 5-13-2012 (mother's day), we waited for coffee extra long. The table cloth had spilled syrup which got very sticky when putting our hand on the table. Then we had to wait to order. The wait for food was long but I accept that as each waffle is supposed to be... More

In the case of this euro-style cafe, you can't tell the eatery by it's store front. You really have to go in and grab a seat. I highly recommend Sunday brunch if you want to feel like you've woken up to find yourself in Holland(thus the Dutch decor) and see a huge belgian waffle, truly van yummy crepe, or beyond... More

I loved this restaurant and used to frequent it at its old location, until my son shared his experience. He was parked on the street outside waiting for his wife who was at the hair salon, being a nice husband he sat and waited, after a while, he got out to stretch his legs and actually went into Van Ghent,...
