While I only had a cup of tea while joining others for a meal, I was immediately impressed by the friendly yet professional service provided by Erica, our waitperson, and Bill, the manager. At the height of the dinner hour, Erica managed service to multiple tables with a smile and extremely efficient delivery of orders. Bill worked his way throughout... More

This restaurant is adjacent to the Hilton Garden Inn in Warwick. Very convenient if you are staying there and don't have a car. You may encounter a wait if they are busy and you don't have a reservation -- don't just assume you will be seated immediately. The food is okay, the service is excellent. Pricing is moderate.

One week each summer we hold week-long meetings with our Admissions Representatives who are located throughout the United States. For one of the evenings we choose a restaurant with a JWU Alumni affiliation. This year we chose Iron Works Tavern. Several other staff members had dined here previously and had nothing but great reviews. The staff was very helpful in... More

I will always make a point to stop in and see Kenny G. After a long flight, the Iron works tavern is within walking distance from the airport. Kenny makes me feel at home and delivers top notch service. and if i am interested the food is very good. In all Kenny is the best in North America. p.s. Happy... More

The Hilton that is attached to the Tavern is my favorite base when in Providence. I have eaten in the restaurant many times and was always satisfied until this trip. My first night I had seafood casserole. The shrimp was cooked within a inch of its life, the lobster stuffed fish roll was ok but the scallops were bitter. I... More

Hello Mike S, thank you for the important feedback. My personal apologies that both dishes were not satisfactory. I spoken with the kitchen staff and we will be making the proper adjustments so this does not continue to happen. I was happy to hear most of your visits were enjoyable and hope that is what will bring you back to... More

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Warwick during a recent visit to RI, and had dinner twice at the Iron Works Tavern, which is attached to the hotel. True to its name, the restaurant is in part of an old iron works factory building, so the decor is very interesting, though a bit dark. On... More

On a hot summer day, I wanted a light lunch so I ordered from the vegetarian offerings even though I'm an omnivore. Turned out to be an inspired choice: lemon quinoa with artichokes, Portabello mushroom and fresh spinach. The presentation was beautiful--worthy of a French bistro. Each ingredient was cooked perfectly. My only regret is that I didn't take a... More

Kay W--thank you for all the positive comments! In addition to the Quinoa dish, the kitchen also prepares a Daily Vegetarian Entrée that reflects RI seasonal items. Next time you are in town—let us know you are here—and don’t forget to take that picture!! :) More

At the Crowne Plaza - was best/close choice first night - liked it so much I went back 2nd night instead of traipsing into Newport. Food was all frsh and well prepared/presented. Need a few more aggressive NE brews on tap. I will be back.

Bill S--many thanks for your review!! Glad to hear the IWT was the "best" choice for your first RI dinner--and that you gave up dining in Newport to continue the experience on day 2! The staff was happy to hear that. Please let us know when you are in RI again--I would like to say hello in person. More

I stay at the Hilton Garden Inn attached to the restaurant frequently and the restaurant is dark to see menu but nice bar ambiance. The food has your typical pub food dialed up a notch. Overall not bad but not exceptional restaurant. Good in a pinch when staying at a hotel. Had the flank steak which was good but smothered... More

Anthony C, Thank you for sharing your experience. Glad you enjoyed our flank steak, and for future visits, be sure to ask your server about different sauces we may be able to pair with your choice. The team is also working on our dim lighting issue we have with the current 1918 building esthetics. Come visit again the next time... More

We ate there once while we were in the area. The lobster roll was okay but doesn't measure up to that of other restaurants which serve the same type of food. The lobster seem to be ground up sort of like chicken or tuna salad. It did not have the chunks of lobster that I have found in other restaurants.... More
