Had a good experience with my family. We all enjoyed our food. I had some clam chowder and clam cakes and my husband had the calamari salad. The waitstaff was excellent.

It was over priced, soggy, fried seafood, but not horrible. Better experience at Jim's Dock right around the corner.

I had'nt been home for 23 years. So wanted a really good New England food memory. Captain Jack's only left a bad taste. The creamy New England Clam Chowder was thin, weak tasting, had too many huge chunks of potatoes and hardly any clams. The grilled cheese sandwich from the kids menu was on huge thick bread and the worst... More

My family has been visiting Rhode Island for the past 30 years. This restaurant is one of the first ones we tried going back that far. Food has always been good as well as the staff. The menu offers a great selection of seafood and the place is very family friendly. Timing is everything, as during the beach season, this... More

After reading some of the reviews I was a little nervous to go there and eat. They now have a new chef and the food was delicious! The restaurant has great views if you wish to sit outside and dine. We opted to eat in. The service was friendly and prompt. The food from appetizers to dessert was delicious! We... More

I love a good "fish and chips". Believe it or not, it is hard to find. Cap'n Jacks serves the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked haddock, and a very generous portion too. My husband had shrimp scampi (his favorite) and enjoyed it very much. The place has been done over inside and is great. They also have outside... More

So, you are in Rhode Island in August and all of the restaurants seem to be out of lobster. What's up with that!!! Well, Cap'n Jack had plenty of lobsters and we LOVED the preparation of the baked stuffed lobster - cost approximately $26 - perhaps one of the best we've ever tasted. The lobster bisque was outstanding and the... More

Had been here last year and wanted to try it again after hearing some of the renovations and menu changes. Sooo glad we did. Gnocchi poutine was awesome and one strange surprise for a seafood place...the skirt STEAK was incredible. Salad listings were appetizing as well. We had some oysters and enjoyed them all too. The cocktail sauce and migonette... More

Lobster stew which looked more like lobster bisque was outstanding. Lots of lobster! My wife had the scrod which she also raved about. Sat outside which had a beautiful view. The service had nothing lacking. We departed as happy customers.

We have been going to Cap'n Jacks for years! it is now under new management and a new chef. We loved the old menu. They new menu features 1-1/4 lobster for $24 with potatoes, which I consider a rip off, compared to the old menu. The mussels (app) had a tasty tomato sauce but only included 12 mussels! Chowder was... More
