Lobster love

Family owned and operated for many years with consistent service and quality food. Lobsters were cooked perfectly and very delicious, NE clam chowder is very good. The deserts are sinful with éclairs that weigh a pound each! The back porch overlooks the salt marsh and is beautiful. They... read more

So, what can I say. We have been coming to Cap'n Jacks for years and years....probably a couple years skipped in there. But this past year we decided to try again, we were pleasantly surprised. Now we've been here a dozen times and never disappointed! Can't eat here enough! The great food (awesome prices), friendly staff, beautiful view of the... More

There was a time when the line to get into Cap'n Jacks was a solid hour wait. No more. Four years ago a new restaurant (Matunuck Oyster Restaurant) opened across the street to killer acclaim and it was the death knoll for Cap'n Jacks. My parents used to eat at Cap'n Jacks every Friday evening in the summer. I went... More

A night out with friends met with a disappointing meal. The chowder and clam cakes were just okay... The Shrimp Scampi was absolutely tasteless. One of guys in our party had a big bowl of steamers which he enjoyed. But, no one else felt the same on their meals!

I thought it was just okay, nothng great. We had calamari to start. It was fried and served with lemon and banana peppers. I am not sure which of these items caused the calamari to be soggy. It tasted okay. The clam cakes are good. I picture foodies going all of the way to RI just for the clamcakes. I... More

this place has been around for years, the food is good, the service okay and the prices average. The problem is there are other places now located in the area that do as good as or better job. Time for the Cap'n to rethink his operation to compete with the competitor's.

I have to say this restaurant does not cheat on their serving sizes! My husband and I both ordered the fried seafood sampler plus calamari. Sampler came with chowder and clam cakes. Could have ordered 1 entrée and shared! We were both stuffed by the time our entrees arrived. Sampler included fried oysters, clams, huge fish fillet, scallops. Tasted a... More

Not impressed with Cap'n Jacks. Food is average, service is spotty. Nothing exciting about this place.

Probably the quickest service we have every had at a restaurant. The calamari was terrific and the serving size was huge! I ordered the lobster roll and although it was good... it wasn't great. There was a lot of claw meat and it's tasted more fish like then I would have preferred (we had lobster roll the night before at... More

Had a good experience with my family. We all enjoyed our food. I had some clam chowder and clam cakes and my husband had the calamari salad. The waitstaff was excellent.
