not the same without a window seat

My husband and I ventured out for a belated Valentine's Day lunch at the Matunuck Oyster Bar yesterday and were seated at an inside table upstairs. The food was good, but if you're not at a window table, the experience was just "meh". Evidently, there was a seal that the "window people" were watching - would have been interesting. We're... We've been to the Oyster Bar several times. Yes they have their own oyster farms, and they serve several different types. Excellent! While they are known for oysters their whole menu is very good and well prepared. Swordfish and jambalaya were very good, likewise stuffed sole. A friend even had the ribeye steak and liked it. In the summer there... More

Located down the road from the state beach on the main access road. People rave about their oysters - no comment, not eaten them in 30 yrs. Summer offers patio seating near the water but inside it can be cramped and NOISY. Food is above average but not that special to me; other people rave about it. National reviews. The... More

Great place with a wonderful location! Love the variety of oysters - locally caught and grown! I enjoy coming here during the summer time with hanging outside at the bar with raw bar and drinks, while waiting to be seated. The wait never seems too long (maybe an hour wait is usually what I encounter) as they have open door seating... More

It was a dark and rainy night in January. We could hear the pounding of the surf off Point Judith as we entered Matunuck Oyster Bar, setting the perfect atmosphere for our experience. Diners were seated under the plastic tent outside, comfortably warmed and lighted, the tent sides billowing and snapping under a gusty wind. It was the night of... More

We have been here so many times over the last couple of years, but loved coming here several times in late December/early January. No crowds, great views and we love the food. The oysters, calamari, lobster roll and beet/goat cheese salad are so delicious, I could eat these dishes several times a week! Try to get here in the winter... More

This is always on our list when we are back in RI visiting family. The food is exceptional! In the summer there will be a wait.. But it is well worth it. You can still outside and have a few drinks while you wait for your table to become available. We just went recently for our New Years Eve Dinner,... More

I came for the oysters. When we arrived the oyster bar was very crowded so we just asked for a table. It was early for dinner but it was already busy. I enjoyed a lobster roll and some RI style clam chowder. It was so good I didn't have room for oysters!

Went there before New Years, the upstairs was not yet open, but with the downstairs renovations done and the expanded kitchen in full swing, the menu has expanded to include so any more oyster dishes. Love how they added to the salad menu, so you can top a salad off with many things, including fried oysters! Yum! The kitchen staff... More

My wife and I were on a day trip to the Rhode Island shore, trying to forget about winter for a while, when we asked a local where to eat. Her name was Honey and her dogs name was Noah so we knew we could trust her (lol). Anyway, she told us to go to the Matunuck Oyster Bar. It's... More
