Fresh delicious simple food, great atmosphere, attentive staff, master shuckers. Love the red sangria & Lost Sailor beer. Fried clams, fresh oysters, lobster rolls, salads, BREAD!!! & chowder were all consistently yummy over a hand full of visits South county is a special place. Perry is the man. I would expand the bathroom facilities.

Came here late afternoon having just arrived on RI. The place has a great atmosphere with big bar outside, right on the bay. Step inside and you are greeted by two friendly and quit talented shuckers. You can have a drink and watch them work the shells while waiting for a table. Clam chowder was excellent, as was the lobster... More

We've been enjoying lunch at the Matunuck Oyster Bar for several years. The food is fresh and delicious...and the prices are fair. Now with so much outdoor seating, overlooking the water, it just can't be beat. It's truly Rhode Island at it's very best.

We were in Newport for the (rainy) week and went exploring other towns. After walking through Wakefield ( lovely little town) we had remembered reading about an oyster bar in the area. Fortunately the GPS had it listed. It was crowded at 1 PM on a misty cloudy day but it was packed, the scenery was terrific and the wait... More

My wife and I have been there many times, also along with other couples. We have never had a bad meal there whether it is their Oysters to the Lobster Rolls, such a great place. The outside dining along with the food makes for a great time.

On our return from Block, we needed a place to go for dinner. I texted a friend who lives close by and he said MOB hands down. He was right. We pulled up and my wife ran in to see how long the wait was. 30 mins. So we said OK. We valet parked the cars ( there were eight... More

My wife and I visited the MOB for the second time, the first time this summer. We chose a week night this time in hopes it would be less crowded. We arrived early, around 5:30 and there was a wait for a table outside. We chose a table inside where there was no wait. As before, the only drawback to... More

I have been enjoying this gem of a seafood restaurant for years. They have the freshest, sweetest, tenderest littleneck clams I've ever tasted, time and time again.

We have been to the Matunuck Oyster Bar a few times recently and it has been equally delicious every time which has prompted me to write this review! It's not super close but it's totally worth the ride! The chowder is always so fresh, the oysters delicious, and the lobster roll is the best I have ever had (both times)!!... More
