Go raw not cooked

The cooked oysters were so small they were hard to find in the cheese. I went with the 1/2 dozen sample plate with 3 different types of oysters. Very disappointing even for cheap price of $12. The raw oysters were better and lobster roll and jambalaya were both excellent. Crowded but that is... read more

We stopped in on a recommendation from some friends. We sat at a table right near the water. Service was excellent and so was the food. If you are in the area make it s point to stop in.

The M.O.B. is by far the best place to get appetizers outside a restaurant that I have been to. The deck overlooks a river leading in from the Ocean and they have seating for dinner and the outside bar. Lets get into the details, the apps were top notch and the beer selection was very good. We had muscles and... More

We were looking for some great local seafood and we found it at the Matunuck Oyster Bar. We went for an early dinner around 4:30pm and we were able to be seated right away inside. We had a great view of the (3) men shucking oysters right in front of us. The outside bar and seating area was really nice,... More

They really know how to provide quality food reasonably. We usually go off season, not that it matters that much. They always have a good crowd. They harvest their own oysters and grow their own vegetables. We started off with the New England Clam Chowder and the Rhode Island Clam Chowder. Both were excellent. One person had the matunuck oysters.... More

What is the great Yogi Berra's line, "Nobody goes there anymore, its too crowded"? Yes, the oysters are top notch, perhaps the best place in the area to get them, but its not cheap by any means and in the last few years its crazy crowded here and its been written up by all manner to publications so the hip... Have been vacationing in the area for over 40 years and this is the best seafood to be found. The oysters are grown and harvested just out the restaurant's back door and can't be beat for freshness and flavor. Though the lines may seem daunting the food is worth the wait - suggest you go early or late and plan... More

Consistently excellent, these folks know their "power alley". The oysters are fabulous - served in virtually any way you want and fresh beyond words. The service is always outstanding. There are simply very very few places where you can dine so well, so casually on a summer day. I'm sure it is fine in the winter too, but the deck,... More

Make a trip to matunuck oyster bar every year during vacation. This year did not disappoint. Atmosphere, service, food and even prices are all great. Don't be put off by crowd - they have enlarged both the outdoor and indoor seating space. Crowd flow and parking are handled great. Local oysters and local sourced produce - great staff - they... Visited the Matunuck Oyster Bar on a July afternoon about 2pm. I can't even tell you how wonderful it was. We were seated right away inside. The restaurant is very nice and the view from our table was beautiful. All of the food we ordered was beyond delicious, we had clam chowder, salad, steamers , lobster, and rolls. Our waitress...
