The best fresh seafood in RI

Excellent service staff - freindly, polite, actually interested in you - the customer! The food quality and quantity is the best in the state in my opinion.

Not pretentious or overwrought...just the freshest and best-prepared seafood I have ever found served by the hands-on owner and his polished, polite, personable and hard-working staff. Lovely location with restaurant facilities well-designed and maintained. The MOB is typically busy and there is often a wait...but that is because it is such a great place. In fact, this is one of... Loooong wait (even on the "off-season") on a Saturday night. Know this going in and be prepared to wait. Wait at one of the bars where there is a very nice atmosphere, wonderful oysters (both raw and broiled), and an excellent bartender. Table service was not very good, but the food was excellent. We enjoyed the clam and bean dish... More

This was my second visit to the Matunuck Oyster Bar. I started the meal with fresh oysters directly from the pond where the restaurant is located. DELICIOUS. Arugala salad had just the right amount of dressing. I had the lobster roll which was ALL lobster. In fact I cut some of the pieces that fell from the roll. No filler... More

The food was more than excellent than when we left in January. They just pay attention to quality, service and freshness. We had the oysters on the half shell, I had the combo fried oysters, and fish with cole slaw and fries. My wife had the lobster sandwich and it was excellent. Perry the owner always comes around to ask if everything is... More

I went here with another couple to celebrate their anniversary. Valet parking, no wait, and excellent food. I would recommend sitting inside if possible until they don't need the heater anymore, as it completely blew us away! We spent the entire dinner trying to add and remove layers of clothing to battle the hot and cold. The food was fantastic!... More

Went back recently to give it another try, hoping they figured it out after the expansion. As always, oysters were fresh and outstanding, the best I've ever had anywhere. That being said, everything else was a disappointment. My fried oysters were soggy, as was the fried fish. Cold french fries again. The oyster stew, which at one time was great... More

If you like clams and oysters - especially raw - there's no place better around. Fresh food, shucked pretty much as you eat them. Prices reasonable, but it can add up if you eat a lot.

My wife Barbara and our friend Jerry had lunch at the Oyster Bar today and we couldn't have been happier. Everyone had a truly delicious meal. My grilled salmon had a sweet and spicy ginger sauce and was served with sticky rice and snow peas. Perfectly grilled it was filled with flavors that were sheer pleasure to the tastebuds. Barbara... There are various salt ponds in this area, with a number of oyster farming enterprises. The Matunuck Oyster is grown right next to this restaurant where Matunuck oysters are highlightred along with other oysters from nearby salt pond oyster enterprises. It is extraordinary the difference in fresh raw oyster taste from one salt pond oyster farming location to the next,... More
