George's of Galilee is a wonderful restaurant in Galilee Harbor...you can literally watch the boats go in an out and the folks walking to and from the beach area. We ordered and loved the clear broth chowder (a first for us). Honestly this was the best chowder we have ever had. My husband is from Maine and grew up eating... more

Nice views, but if its busy, you may wait an unreasonable amount of time. Scallops are of the small, frozen imported from China farm raised type. I should know I serve them at my place. They are not terrible but nothing near the taste of a locally harvested dry sea scallop. The clam strip sandwich is also of the frozen... more

A very fun place! Went on a Friday night sat on the deck enjoyed the music. The stuffed clams were great the Portuguese clams wonderful. The lobster roll to much lettuce. The cocktails tasted like sewerage. Next time I will stick with beer. more

We always make sure to stop at George's before getting on the ferry to head to Block Island. We have never eaten in the dining room, but choose to eat outside at their bar on the deck overlooking the ocean so we can watch the incoming and outgoing boats. You must try their fishbowl cocktail for $19 (definitely enough for... more

We first sat in the upstairs dining room. Didn't know that the place has TWO menus, and if you want lobster, sit downstairs, otherwise you won't be able to have it! We asked to be moved downstairs. Service was TERRIBLE. Waitress brough my partner's chowder, but not my salad. I had to ask to have it brought out. Then, the... more

My husband and I went for a ride on June 23rd from Worcester, MA to George's of Galilee after we saw the restaurant on Phantom Gourmet. I ordered a cup of lobster bisque and my husband ordered 6 clam fritters. I think their lobster bisque is excellent and the fritters were a little overdone, but fine. For our meals, we... more

I have been going to George's since the late 50's. Not so much in the past 5 years or so, last visted 05/24/09. In it's day there was nothing better than their chowdah and clam cakes, sit on the rocks and watch the day go by. Not nearly so any longer. It has totally changed the original family would not... more

I've never had to write a review this disappointing before, but George's was just all view and bad vittles. We checked out George's on a Sunday for brunch. This is a brunch that provides a reasonable buffet selection...unfortunately, many of the dishes were being eaten by flies. The few dishes that had been protected from flies were not hot, lacked... more

I am sad to say, this was the worst dining experience I have ever had. We went on a wednesday night, 7 adults 5 children. We ate in the lower dining room, it wasn't very busy. The slowest service possible. Seated for 1/2 hour without an order taken, we then gave our order for drinks and appetizers. 15 minutes later... more
