Casual seafood place on the bay

Three of us had an early dinner here. Outdoor seating overlooking the bay with nice view of boats coming and going. Had very good fried seafood and some dishes from the raw bar. Oysters fairly good, but on the small side, especially compared to Gulf oysters. Great place for families and place was... read more

When John visits we just have to go here. He gorgeous on lobster, with a side of fried clams, and my wife and I do our best to withhold judgment on his eating habits. Anyway, a good place -- a notch above a clam shack because it is up a flight of stairs. The food is fresh. You get on... More

We heard about this place and had to try it. Basic shAck type place by water. Ate awesome seafood, and had a great time. Chowder was outrageously good. Nicest bartenders I have ever met. Worth the wait on line. Don't miss it.

Went to Gailee in Rhode Island for a Saturday day trip/lunch. Asked locals which was the better restaurant Champlin's or Georges, everyone said unanimously go to Champlin's...so we did. Husband got lobster roll & side of onion rings, lobster was fresh, a plump full roll full of lobster meet and the onion rings were good. I had a grilled shrimp... More

We were looking for great seafood to go and we found in at Champlins. Called them.from the beach and they had our steamed lobsters, cooked shrimp and swordfish ready to go! Helpful, friendly, reasonable and delicious!

Quick summary: very good fried seafood and three kinds of chowder. Lobster dinners also good. Very casual picnic-style tables. Lovely view of the Galilea harbor from the bar area, but you can also get a waterside table away from the bar. Annoying line. We usually get the classic fried seafood and chowder options, and save the fanicier fish and lobsters... More

Went to Champlins after 10 years after our last visit. Food is average, white clam chowder was nothing to brag about. Gloucester Causeways restaurant beats them by the mile with their clam chowder. 38 dollars for fish and chips and fried coconut shrimp dinners with no drinks is way too much. There were 5 small shrimps and large pile of... More

Casual and not pretentious. Great, fresh seafood seems like it came right off the boats docked nearby. Prices have increased, but the high quality selections make it worth the money. Fun location - bring the family. Be prepared to wait I. Line during the busy season.

We a party of 8, mostly kids. Food I'd say was just ok. Lobster Roll was the most expensive that I've seen here in town $19.95!!! but yet I got it because it was the first place that we went out on this trip and I didn't know any better. It was just ok at best and I didn't like... More

The lobster is the most tender and delicious I have ever had. Have been going year after year. Prices really went up this year. It is a very casual dining experience and the outside seating is nice but with the price increase, I may rethink visiting next year. For self serve and cafeteria trays, most restaurants will be a couple... More
