Great views and outdoor eating on the water

This is a great, fun place to eat seafood. Clams, chowders, crab cakes, fish and chips - all yummy (not healthy 😄) while sitting on wooden benches outside on the deck overlooking the ocean. Food is decent; experience is perfect for New England.

The food is not horrible but not the greatest. The open deck atmosphere is what is the draw I believe. The cocktails were good. Sticky tables, pick up window. but right near the beach and convenient to get to since driving around in the area is very crowded and difficult. no parking.

When we first arrived the line to order stretched out the door and to the top of the steps. Despite the seemingly long line, it moved really quickly. Within 20 minutes we were up to the ordering counter making our delicious requests. While we waited, we visited the beer counter to order up a couple of tasty local brews. Boyfriend... More

Many of us make a traditional annual jaunt there to kick off the summer season. Is it the best fish in the world, perhaps not - it's a simple menu but the place offers a great spot to watch the boat traffic. Lobster, other fish, hot dogs, chowder, etc. Great for kids. Go elsewhere if you can't appreciate picnic tables... More

My husband and I were craving a bowl of chowder and some clam cakes. Not a lot of "chowda" shacks open yet so we headed to Champlin's as we had not been there in years. The chowder was ok, nothing really to complain about there. But the clam cakes were the worst we've ever had. Heavy, yellow, dense and slightly... More

and some fried seafood. Both my wife and I had fried clam rolls. Outstanding. We ate on the outside deck. The views are beautiful. You're watching the ferrys come in from Block Island. It's a fast food type place, but good

It's a fish market with an open restaurant on top. There are flies everywhere...no air conditioning...and its window pickup, with wet naps and plastic everything. Being a native RI'er, I find this place trashy, and the prices aren't that great. If you're expecting a seafood dining experience, go downstairs, buy it fresh....and take it home to cook. One of the... More

I and my family (from upstate New York) have visited Rhode Island on many occasions. Each time we do, we stop for at least one meal at Champlin's. We love this place! The seafood is very fresh and perfectly prepared. There are lots of choices, mostly fried but some broiled offerings. Skip the fries and go for the red potatoes.... More

I hole in the wall place, yet great fresh seafood. Go in the offseason (October - May) and really enjoy Gallilee for what it is - a fishing community.

First of all the food, the Snail Salad was divine, the smoked fish was delish, the Seafood Linguini with clam sauce was immense and excellent. Second the atmosphere, yes you order at the window and call your number for pick-up. Please remember if you are at Chaplin's has some of the best seafood anywhere. Oh yeah, you have some mighty...
