Great spot for lobstah in the rough

Nothing fancy, just great lobster, steamers, fried clams and fish quick, with freshly shucked oysters and clams added the last few years. Fun spot with familty or friends, eating overlooking the water, outside or in the 'dining room'. Would pass on the chowder, but everything else is worth the... read more

The food here to be honest is not anything particularly spectacular. It's never been terrible, but just nothing to write home about. I've been coming here since I was a kid so for me it's all about the memories. Now I come, when I'm in town, with my niece and nephew are still indifferent when it comes to food. The... More

This is a great picnic style atmosphere. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. Best fried scallops I've ever had. The raw bar is awesome. Oysters are always fresh. The bar always has a delicious and fun special - it was watermelon mojitos last June! We look forward to going every year. Highly recommend.

Ventured to Galilee RI today - off season - to enjoy the view of the fishing boats & ocean. Champlin's was suppose to be the the highlight of the trip. My friend ordered a mixed seafood plate. She ended up dumping it in the trash. The oil the clams were cooked in must have been old as the clams looks... More

We go here at least once each year and we go early enough (500-530) to beat the crowd that inevitably shows up. I've had the baked/stuffed flounder, and the fish fry. Fish fry was OK. Typical of what I'd expect. Flounder was a bit too buttery for my taste. The stuffies (stuffed clams) are huge and pretty filling. My son... More

Before visiting George's of Galilee, we headed to our old-time favorite (try 30+ years). Whenever we return to RI, we could count on Champlain's for the best steamers and lobsta salad rolls. $68 brought 1 roll with one scoop of mayo and lobster, a dish over the largest, sandiest, tough "steamers" imaginable, 2 terrible bloody Mary's.

We visited this area with family and went to Champlin's for lunch. There were 9 of us and we were all pleased. The restaurant is on the second floor and it is counter service. There is indoor and outdoor seating, also on the second floor, with a beautiful view of the water. I would definitely recommend.

Tasty fried clams. super fresh steamed clams, well flavored stuffed clams, yummy chowder and classic clam cakes -- and, of course, there's lobster. You sit on picnic benches, use paper plates and plastic utensils, and for all the informality, the food isn't inexpensive. That said, the fried foods are handled well, the seafood is very fresh, and you get to... More

Stopped here after biking Block Island all day. Place was very quiet at dusk but for $32.00 the two of us hadmflounder fish & chips, which came with cups of chowder & their version of crab cakes (which was really just dough balls with a little crab inside). Place was clean & it was pretty overlooking the sun going down... More

It's plain. If you want fancy, this ain't it. If you want fresh, and friendly, and want a view if the fishing boats and harbor this is it. We like the chowders, they have red, white, and clear. They have lobster, you can pick one, they will cook it for 5 bucks. The fish tacos are in plain barely warmed... More
