This may have been the worst meal I've had in a long time. My dad was raving about this place having gone here as a kid and since we were in town we made the trip to eat here. The clam chowder was watery and lacked flavor. The clam cakes tasted like fried dough and that's it. My "hot" lobster... More

Enjoyed a Friday lunch at Aunt Carrie's before the season begins next weekend (Memorial Weekend). Aunt Carrie's is definitely a Rhode Island institution going back 90 years. i ordered a seafood platter which of course is usually fried with lots of fries. Aunt Carrie's swapped out the fries for delicious mashed potatoes and I mean delicious! Yes, the seafood was... More

We visited a Bunch of Rhode Island seafood restaurants this week (see my other R.I. reviews) and Aunt Carrie's was FAR and ABOVE the rest. I don't how the previous 3 reviewers got their 3 star opinions but we totally disagree. We had the Shore Dinners- definitely 5 stars! The Clear Rhode Island chowder was Fabulous. I know that I've... Aunt Carries is an institution in RI. Just about everyone from any generation can remember going here for chowda' and clam cakes. Its never been a bad place, but it also has never been the best of the clam shake style restaurants in Narragansett. Their clam cakes are good, but not at all spicy, rather bland in my opinion. But... More

We went down to Aunt Carries for their opening weekend. We have been there before and the quality has varied greatly. We ordered the white chowder which was good. They tend to use milk rather than cream so it is more of a liquid but tasty. Potatoes are fresh and not overly cooked. The clam cakes were a real disappointment.... More

Have never been wowed by the food at Aunt Carrie's. It is always extremely crowded in the summer and we feel not worth the wait!

I did not know clam cakes...when I arrived in Rhode Island my friend suggested me this restaurant as the best! and they were right! Clam cakes are very very good and very very soft! I like them very very much and I visited this restaurant many times during my visit (9 months) in RI!! The best is to eat clam... More

Aunt Carries is a real old beach clam shack. I have gone here for year and is really is a treat. The clam cakes alone are worth the trip. Chowder is real simple and perfectly made. Tons of other seafood items on this Teriffic Menu. Do NOT forget the homemade pies they are the best anywhere. Cannot wait til spring... More

Grab some cold ones before getting here. Then enjoy chowda and clam cakes the size of baseballs loaded with pieces of clams! ALL for less than ten bucks, YUM. Other items all at a good prices. You can order many styles of chowda. Some of the friendlier wait staff for summer help.

Stopped here after a day on Block Island and wished we didn't. Hot lobster roll had was not hot, flavorless, no seasoning, no butter, and plain white roll. Fried Clams were just plain gross - tasted like they'd been frozen, rubbery, greasy. Clam cakes??? more like bread cake with a piece of clam here and there. Definitly not worth the... More
