I recently had a most disappointing lunch at Aunt Carrie's. The clam cakes were nothing more than fried dough and the squid rings (calamari) were soggy and tasteless. Based on my sampling, I find it hard to believe that this place was ever an award winner. I've heard that AC was a treat at one time but that era has... more

I have been going to RI for years and frequented the restaurant for the first time three years ago. I had a New England clam chowder which was unremarkable but ok. The next time I went back was about a year ago. My companion and I were hungry and it was right there and convenient. Food was bearable. Unfortunately, we... more

Aunt Carries has a heart warming story behind it, but the food is just average. I agree with a few of the previous reviewers about the "milky/watery" chowder. I too had the whole belly clams but faired better than the last reviewer of that entree. Here's my take, the seafood is fresh, but don't expect anything other than broiled or... more

Has this place gone severely downhill recently? I ate at Aunt Carrie’s for the third time in my life on Saturday Sept 4. I remembered it being a pleasant experience the first two trips. This last time it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had anywhere. I am sure people like to exaggerate things on this site,... more

I went to aunt carries this past week. The staff was wonderful from start. The chowder was traditional old fashion clam chowda!! The clamcakes were filled of clams and were nice and hot. The broiled sea scallops melted in my mouth! For dessert we had key lime pie. Best key lime I've ever had! Perfect combination of sweet and tart!... more

Food was a tourist rip off. I have had better seafood in my local town. The only decent item we tried was the clam chowder. more

I have to fully agree with the negative reviews- what a disappointment the food was at out lunch this week !! Despite the cheerful waitress and shore atmosphere this will be our last time at AC. As noted in one review, the milk chowder was watery and had two pieces of clam among the cup of potatoes. The whole belly... more

I've been going to Aunt Carrie's with my family at least once a year for most of my life. I always get the fried fish or fried scallops and they never disappoint. The clear chowder is the best of the three, the cole slaw is delicious and the rhubarb pie is to die for. I also love the casual atmosphere,... more

I had the fried bay scallop roll and coleslaw, plus a clam cake from my husband's order. It was the absolute best lunch style seafood I've ever had. They've mastered this class. It really tasted like a fine restaurant doing short order. My aunt, who lives in Narragansett, swears by Aunt Carrie's and I can definitely second her endorsement. Super... more

Nothing fancy, just great seafood. Clam cakes (fritters) were wonderful, but the highlight was the Hot Lobster Roll. My waitress, Micha, talked me into the sandwich rather than the roll, and she didn't disappoint! The sandwich was enormous; stuffed with more than one lobster's worth of meat! It was crammed into 2 large slices of homemade white bread which they... more
