OK, first I will start with the positive. The location is great, and the view from the deck is beautiful. Now for the rest. We should have known what we were in for when we sat down at a table on the outside deck that was vacated by a couple who finally gave up and left the restaurant after unsuccessfully... more

If you are a nonsmoker or a smoker trying to quit, then I recommend to boycott the Coast Guard House in Narragansett, RI. On recent visits to the restaurant, I was appalled at how many patrons were smoking on the deck. The staff was not fully following the smoking ban. Smokers were smoking near entrances allowing smoke to migrate into... more

Great views! Beautiful outdoor roof deck overlooking the ocean. My girlfriends and I sat outside and had drinks and apps. The drinks were good. We ordered oysters which were tasty but pricey. We also ordered the lobster roll and clam cake. Food was OK. Overall, it's pricey for what you get - you pay for the view. more

This spot is tremendous for the location and view. Like any spot sitting smack on the beachside road in Narragansett, this place is in a prime location right on the water. In the summer you can grab a drink on the rooftop bar and watch the waves. It appears it is a nice place and even the inside is upscale... more

This is a lovely restaurant, on the most beautiful spot imagineable: just about hanging out over the water, with the broad expanse of the Atlantic before you. I always feel like I'm on a boat when I'm there. We have been to the Sunday brunch several times over the past few years (never there for other meals). Unfortunately, the quality... more

We've eaten here a number of times and always get lucky & get a table by the windows overlooking the bay. Wait for a window table if you have to. The calamari appetizer always seems to be the most memorable part of the meal. The rest of our meals have never been "bad" ... just not as impressive as the... more

We have been patrons of the CGH for many years. Our latest visit this July 06 was a nightmare. My wife ordered the filet mignon, it was tough as rawhide. The server never came to check on things. When he came to drop of the bill he asked how it was, I told him the filet was inedible, could not... more

This is a comfortable restaurant with good food, with a great view of Narragansett Bay. The menu may not challenge culinary creativity, but you will get the crowd pleasers (broiled scallops; grilled mahi-mahi; fried and broiled fish dishes; surf & turf; warm spinach salad; key lime cheesecake; etc. ) and some interesting plates every time. Excellent service. The wine list... more

Food is very inconsistant as is the service. Go for a drink on the deck but other nearby restaurants ( Woody's, Basil's and Turtle Soup ) are far better. more
