This is a combined sushi, Japanese and Korean restaurant. I tried the chirashi bowl that had a combination of tuna, salmon, mackerel, shrimp, eel, yellow tail (and artificial crab). It was served over bed to seasoned rice with seaweed salad and pickled radish. Sushi was good size pieces and reasonably priced. Came with miso soup. Wife tried the fruit loop... More

Fresh and tasty Japanese and Korean food. Wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Service is above standard. Excellent portions and reasonably priced for the area. Large selection and choices for meals. We went for my husband's birthday (who is a sushi expert), he was overly happy. They do have items for non-sushi eaters. Please try it, you'll... More

This place became a very poor option to dine in up until a couple of years ago. It was sold then and the new owners have put in a lot of effort to clean it up and improve the service and menu and it shows. Excellent service, excellent food!

A hidden restaurant. Loved the specially roll "Crazy Dragon". Fish was fresh. Nicely done! They also offer Japanese and Korean dishes which I didn't try. They looked good.

First time here, was recommended by a coworker and I'm so glad that I came here, this place is tucked away from the touristy spots, but I had a wonderful experience and great food, pretty reasonably priced and really good reasonable priced cocktails, if you like Japanese cuisine this place is a must!

Wonderful in every way: service, food, ambiance! Has both Korean and Japanese options. Have had Korean pancakes, which were fine. But mostly have had the Japanese options, including the excellent miso soup, and the sushi and sashimi. Also, the steamed dumplings, which were truly outstanding. We had the pork dumplings. Their selection of wines is fine, including some excellent New... More

It was so bad we are never going to give it a second chance. The whole experience took about 2hrs 15min to finish. We had 2 three year olds with us and 2 of us had to leave even before the meal came. We were a party of 6 with 2 kids who didn't order food, the whole back area... More

Authentic and delicious food!! I understand the restaurant is under new ownership which in my opinion is way better than it was before! The wait was slightly longer which I was informed because of the numerous sushi orders that went it, plus it was visually busy...But the food was definitely worth the wait! The sushi rolls are un-thought of combinations... More

SPICY, fresh, delicious rolls at average cost for comparable restaurants. Nice menu - excellent variety and great service. The ambience is nothing special and it was quiet for a Saturday night but we really enjoyed our meal. Off the beaten track and away from the traveler madness of downtown Newport.

We had an amazing meal at Sea Shai, definitely the finest sushi of all the Aquidneck Island sushi places. The restaurant was quiet when we were there (6:45 on a Sat. night), but I think that has more to do with the location (in a business center). The staff are very helpful and incredibly polite; the restaurant is spotless and... More
