A good family place to go to avoid the tourists

This restaurant is what I'd call pub food, and they make their own beer right there at the restaurant. I enjoy getting the beer sampler, especially in the winter months. I love to try a good stout or porter. I do like their buffalo chicken tenders, and their sausage is a really good choice... read more

We reserved tables for 35-40 people for a rehearsal dinner for a wedding. Billy the owner had wonderful suggestions for apps and meals that we could have preset for easier ordering. He was especially quick on responding to emails which during the summer in the Newport area is lacking. I had contacted some other venues and their communication was lacking... More

We were referred to this restaurant by the Courtyard Marriott Staff. What a HUGE disappointment. The only food item, other than the club sandwich that was actually cooked at the restaurant, the Taco Salad was uneatable. It seemed when adding the Taco seasoning to the meat, someone was heavy handed. Did you ever eat something with too much dry mix... More

I went here for dinner with my family one night. My wife got the fish and chips and I got the German sausages. I would have likely ordered something different but my wife was ready and I made a quick pick. The fish was good and the sausages were okay, but the real stars were the beers. After all, this... Restaurant was croweded but relatively quiet. Nice atmosphere. The service was good as we had one person in our party who had to get away quickly. The best part was the food. My wife and I shared a calamari apetizer and the baked seafood platter. Both were outstanding! Will definitely come back on our next visit to Newport.

I went to Coddington and have to say, it's a great place to grab a quick bite or sit down for dinner. The menu has something for everyone. I love the nachos, boneless buffalo wings and the ahi tuna. The calamari is hand down my favorite though. It's loaded with crispy light calamari, homemade croutons and tasty Caesar dressing. The... More

Year round, Coddington Brewing offers great food and drinks and an atmosphere to have a good time. Usually when family or friends are brought, the menu has a wide selection to accommodate all guests. There are beers on tap, kids menus and TVs (in the pub area) to please everyone, from the smallest of kids to beer drinkers. Overall, I... More

Several crafted beers are availalbe, try the sampler pack, as well as local wines and hard cider. There is a decent variety of things to eat on the restaurant menu, and seasonal specials are offered. Prices are very reasonable, off street parking is available and seating is usually not a problem.

Stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon for some apps and drinks. We sat at the bar and for some reason, they decided to host a private kids party in the bar area. The bar was filled with screaming toddlers running around. I have no problem with children, but why have this at the bar? Needless to say, we left... More
