Decent breakfast, good after dinner dessert

We were there after the busy season, so neither visit at the Creamery was crowded. Our breakfast was fine. Fairly standard, no problems. Waitress was a bit brusque. We went another time for ice cream. There were a lot of choices and we found the prices reasonable. Manager that night was very... read more

A reliable standard that never gets old, the Creamery continues to serve local and diner-style foods that may not be fine dining but are fine to dine upon. The fried clams is a favorite, the spinach pie sandwich and the meat loaf sandwich are both great, and the "Awful Awful" milkshakes are, as they say "Awful big and Awful good."

I stopped in because I had 30 minutes to wait for one for the mansions to open. I wasn't really hungry but I saw a few delicious looking breakfast go by so I ordered. I had the breakfast sandwich on Portuguese bread - delicious! The entire restaurant reminded me of a lunch counter in the 50's - wonderful! Friendly staff... More

Rhode Island has a chain of about ten cafes named the Newport Creamery, and there are another two in nearby Fall River, Massachusetts. We chose to breakfast in the Middletown eatery - but I expect they're pretty well all much the same. On offer is an extensive range of typical cafe fare .... and it's good tucker, well priced. The... If you're in the mood for ice cream, this place will definitely be your solution. They had excellent ice cream, tons of flavors and also tons of options for how to eat those flavors! The best part is that they have a separate area from the restaurant so you can do a quick in and out. The girls working there... More

The Creamery was located near the Hampton Inn that we stayed at while visiting Newport and so it was a nice place to stop and get some very good Ice Cream after a long day doing our tourist thing in Newport. Glad we stopped.

This is the kind a restaurant I remember as a kid, and one you rarely see today. Ice Cream is great, so many choices, you must stop by if you are in the area

I wanted to like this a little more. It has an extensive selection of ice cream desserts, as well as the traditional cones and bowls. The server directed us to the list of flavors on the permanent menu, but didn't mention special flavors that were available until I stalled slightly while making my two choices for my sundae. The pistachio... More

This place isn't what it used to be. I find them to be almost as expensive as the Brick Alley Pub (which is moderate priced in the first place) and the food is nowhere in comparison. Hard to believe that 2 scoops of ice cream served in a glass dish is over $4! And they really skimp! After reading over... More
