good hamburgers, slow service but friendly ice cream is just ok. was better a long time ago when they were making it themselves. Not as low price as they were but again what places are these days. A nice time for the kids for ice cream or drinks. They are trying very hard.

This restaurant caught my eye on a recent trip to Newport, RI, because it had plenty of customers. Not a fancy place, not trendy, just good food that attracted a good local clientele. It was arranged so you could sit in a booth or at a counter, or you could just order ice cream! We had sandwiches, which were excellent,... More

That is not my opinion about the place but is the name of their famous milk shake. My opinion is Awesome, Awesome. The shakes are thick and creamy. Almost too thick to use a straw. I usually get a chocolate one, I hear the vanilla is good but I like chocolate. the sundaes are good too.

My son and had a decent meal with good service, Their waffle sundae is great!. My son loved the many choices for grilled cheese - more than most any other restaurant we have been too! Lots of good basic comfort food!

While exploring Newport and the surrounding areas, we stumbled upon this little treasure. We stopped in for a quick dessert and were pleasantly surprised. They offer a wide variety of the sundaes and milkshakes. I tried the P.B.F. & Pieces which had Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream topped with peanut butter sauce, hot fudge and Reese's Pieces. It was a... More

The food was average. I ate somewhere else downtown Newport that I cannot recall the name as well. Newport Creamery is a family type atmosphere & they have decent burgers. It's not that great but it will do when you are tired from a trip driving.

I really don't know why the Newport Creamery would call such a delicious milkshake an "Awful Awful", but don't be turned off by the name- it's really, really good. I had a Strawberry Awful Awful and it was excellent. It's really big- so if you don't finish, don't worry- you can get a To-Go cup to take the rest home... More

Great place to stop by for dessert after dinner. Many options from which to choose, basic vanilla to more exotic varieties.

We visit Newport, R.I. about every other year for some time now. We discovered the Middletown and Newport downtown Creameries years ago and wouldn't think of eating anywhere else both for breakfasts and lunches! Food is tops and very reasonablely priced. Service is always quick and friendly. Both places very clean and neat. This year in September we ate at... More

The Awful Awful is the name of their milkshake and wow is it big and good. Great prices and darn good food. Nothing fancy but very solid with good service.
