Heard of Flo's through Aerial America and trip advisor so we had to make it a priority when visiting New England area. I liked the regular clam strips better over the full belly fried clams. But I had to try them. The Fisherman's platter was huge. Could have fed two or three people. But too much fried food. And calamari... More

We came based on TA reviews. The only plus were the fried clams. They were large and tasty. It goes down from that. The fried shrimp were a step above frozen. The cole slaw was dry cabbage. The clam chowder was not flavorful. The tarter sauce was Ken's prepackaged. Fries were fine. Service was rude and lacking. The cashier announced... More

Go early to avoid a loooonnnggg line. Worth it, though. Great beach view dining! The fried clams are to die for!

I was extremely disappointed. No clams in clam cakes or the stuffed quahog. I realize it is October the end of season but I still paid what everyone else does. Really sad. A ruin for my RI trip.

Went to Flo's to satisfy a craving for fried seafood. The fried seafood platter was huge and definitely enough to feed 2 - Mixture of fried fish, shrimp, oyster, clam strips, calamari served with French fries and cole slaw. Also tried the lobster roll platter. It was good but perhaps on the expensive side. The atmosphere is good for kids. We... More

BEST Fried Clams, Fried Oysters, and Lobster Roll I ever had!! Every trip we make to Newport, we must visit Flo's at a minimum of 3x per week. I've tried Anthony's Seafood down the street, and Flo's Clams, Oysters and Lobster Roll still beat Anthony's. Private lot in the back. Check hours because they are different depending no the month/season.... More

We didn't have the famous fried clams, instead had the soup, fries and lobster roll. Loved the fries! Limited free parking in rear. Gas station a few blocks away. ( they are hard to find in Newport)

After a pretty good lunch at this clam shack we decided to go back for their all-you-can-eat crab legs for dinner the same night. Had seen it on the Internet for $12.95 but it turned out to be much more with the explanation that it's not their website that published the wrong price. Obvious that they've heard that complaint before.... More

Very pricey for what you get. Go next door to the Atlantic Grille and get the fish and chips. You won't be disappointed. Beer is cheap, but a rum and coke is $8.50 in a small plastic cup. I'm a local, and have had drinks all over middletown and newport and have never paid $8.50 for a tiny drink like... More

Flo's was highly recommended--looked forward to a real treat there. Very disappointed. The clams were tough and over-fried, the potatoes soggy, the clear chowder seemed to be nothing but the water the potatoes were cooked in and one clam cut 5 or 6 pieces. Maybe a Sunday night is not a good test. Also the place was almost empty.
