This is such a nice little coffee shop with delicious fancy confections! They have quite a range of what they offer for sweets. We love this for a special treat!

If you are looking for a quick snack or bite to eat that goes straight to the hips & arteries..this is the place !! The croissants are out of this world with a true buttery taste. The mini fruit tarts have a flaky...yes ..buttery... crust with the just the right amount of sweetness from the filling & fruit. Definitely worth... More

I've eaten lunch a few times at The French Confection. Each time the food has been very good, and the staff has been very friendly. My favorite item so far, was the lobster salad on a croissant. One of the best I've ever had! The desserts are also exceptional!

Great service and quality! The almond croissants are heavenly. If you're looking for a great cappuccino, pastry and cozy place to read the paper, this is it!

An unexpected delight! We've visited a few times now and have been happy with every meal. Fantastic, fresh sticky buns, danishes, cookies...wonderful coffee and espresso drinks...superb soups. Next time, we're looking forward to trying the mini-pastries (tiramasu, tarts, cannoli, etc.) and the sandwiches. In addition to the marvelous food, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. An all-around wonderful little... More

I love, love, love this cafe! The chef/owner is French, from a family of French bakers. The pastries and cakes are fabulous! The best sandwich on the menu is the lobster salad on a freshly-baked croissant. They don't prepare the salad in the advance - each one is made fresh to order, and they offer several different options for the... More

We discovered this little gem during our vacation in Middletown/Newport. The three of us each got something different and shared them. Everything we got was delicious. In fact, we went back the next day, and once again everything we got was scrumptious.

Had lunch here last week. The four cheese quiche was good but a very small portion. Also had a piece of pecan pie which was delicious. My friend had some type of cake which he said was good but really sweet.

The pastries were delicate and tasted soo good. We each tried something different and we were all very happy, I had this tart with thinly sliced apples and puff pastry and someone else had a danish shape one with raisins and a tasy cream on it, to die for. you can eat in or take it out but either way... Worth going out of your way to visit. I tried more quality baked goods than I should have and the "Pain Aux Raisins" was fantastic...great with a cup of their coffee. Plus, the prices were reasonable.
