Me and my wife searched TripAdvisor mobile for a nearby seafood restaurant while staying in Newport. Anthony's got great reviews so we headed out there last Monday night around 8 o'clock. I was kind of taken aback when we walked in there because it looks like a seafood market and you pick up a menu and order off it to... More

We went to Anthony's on a Saturday night, so had to wait on line for about 30 minutes. We looked at the menu while waiting and had our selections ready when we finally made it to the counter. The seafood chowder, with its spiciness was awesome. We also had crab legs, salmon and fish and chips between us. They were... More

Anthony's had the best reviews on Yelp and so we went here for our first meal (lunch). Had to have steamers and my husband had to have lobster rolls. Both were good but no better than I have had in many other places. I would have loved a nice cup of clam broth but all they gave was a portion... More

Went today. Wife had clam cakes but they had no clams in them, her RI clear chowder was overloaded with tarragon or parsley flakes, not good and the steamers she had were not very tasty or sweet as they usually are. I had white NE chowder that was just OK not outstanding and I had shrimp cocktail that was OK.... More

Fresh lobster not too much mayo served on a wonderfully lightly toasted buttery piece of white bread. Slaw was perfect. Must have! Thank you Anthony! BTW - the "stuffy" was great too!

Very clean restaurant, great sea food and very pleasant employees. The steamed clams were excellent as we're the French fries.

On the urging of two family members we decided to try Anthony's Seafood restaurant in Middletown RI. Even though I had an English fish and chip shop for a few years - fish is not high on my culinary taste list but I'll try it on the odd occasion. Anthony's is a very popular place to eat for locals and... More

After watching tennis all day at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, a local recommended Anthony's for dinner. Less than a 10 minute ride from the tennis location. Very casual and need to get in line for either take out or sit down dining. You make your selection and then choose a table to await your meal. Our group went... More

Anthony's lacks ambiance but the food is unsurpassed. We had the whole fried clams, New England clam chowder, a fish sandwich and the steamers. The steamers were arguable the best we've ever had. This is where you go when you want the best seafood and don't really care about the surroundings.

I have been a fan of Anthony's but they are starting to cut corners. The clambakes used to be almost the size of a tennis ball and loaded with clams. I picked up my much anticipated first order for this summer and they were the size of ping pong balls and I could not find one clam in the half... More
