Don't leave newport without eating here!

The new england clam chowder is the best I have ever tasted. Get it with the clam cakes, what a perfect combo. Delicious. The captains platter is huge and big enough to split between two people. I can't wait to go back to try more things!

Table service once you have ordered at the counter was unenthusiastic and seemed an afterthought to young people having a good time. I got the large fried oysters, sort of the last hurrah of the season. They were out of choices 1 and 2, lobster roll and big scallops. The garlic mashed are a nice alternative to do darn many... Last weekend we were in Middletown for a friend's wedding, so we decided to stop by Anthony's. I read great things about the lobster roll and was excited to try it. Unfortunately, they were not serving lobster rolls the day we were there. So instead my husband and I shared the salmon burger and an order of kung pao calamari.... More

A bit casual for some tastes, but you cannot beat the quality of the fish and its preparation. Be prepared to wait on weekends, but it is worth it. Be sure to come hungry because the volume of food will tax your ability to eat it all. Fortunately they keep go boxes handy.

Nothing fancy, just good seafood. I tried the stuffie, a stuffed clam and specialty of the house...it was good. Fish and chips were good and plenty enought to share for lunch.

The lobster roll (~$28) was a very satisfying portion. Good fries to go with. Kung pao calamari (which was mentioned in a lot of reviews) was pretty good / okay. We really enjoyed the casual atmosphere and shack decor - wait staff was helpful but unintrusive. We looked into a couple seafood places for our trip to Newport: Benjamin's, Flo's,... More

Food is fresh, good and hot and prices are super. The taste was once again out of this world. These guys do a heck of a job. Both fresh seafood and the cooked side of this place are wonderful.

Anthony's is a great place to go out for a fairly quick meal. (During the peak summer you may have to wait for a table). You order at the counter and they bring your meal to you. Nothing fancy, just good eats! Both Lunch and Dinner are GREAT! Prices are great, portions are plenty and the food is fantastic. I... More

Been going to Anthony's for many years -- since it was located on the water on Newport Harbor. Still the same New England clam chowder -- very, very thick, fairly well packed with clams etc. LIke the swordfish sandwich -- the fish is always fresh and well cooked. Fish and chips is reliably good. Lobster roll good too. Very satisfactory... More

Anthony's is great for simple, fresh seafood. My favorites are the lobster and the belly clams. Don't expect fancy preparations, just fresh seafood and traditional cooking methods. You go to Anthony's for the seafood, period. It is worth explaining the way this restaurant works. They don't take reservations. You wait in line to place your order, then you grab a... More
