Great Seafood in a Casual Setting!!

We arrived at our hotel in Middletown for a weekend stay and were looking for somewhere to have lunch before heading into Newport. We found Anthony's Seafood and so glad we did!! We had the 6oz portion of Fried Shrimp and the Fisherman's Platter. Both were excellent!!! The only complaint is that... read more

I buy fresh seafood here 2-4x a week. Then I pick up from the service side 3-4xa month. Yes, you can wear anything & it's a dive and it can get costly and the line can be 40 deep. Whatever. It was on diners, dives & drivethroughs & it's great. Even with no view.

Our party of four enjoyed Anthony's very much. The spicy stuffie (stuffed quahog) and the Portuguese chowder were my favorites. The chowder was loaded with shrimp and chorizo. Crab cakes also great, and loved the sauce. Calamari was perfectly cooked, breading light, not greasy. Stand in line to orer, then the service staff brings the food to your table.Prices are... More

Unpretentious good fresh local seafood prepared properly. Great for eating in or taking out, or make your own with the ingredients from their seafood market. I've tried almost everything on the menu and have never had a bad meal. You can go downtown, look for parking and pay 50% more, or you can come here relax and get a great... More

Since it's been 2 years and well over half a dozen visits back to Anthony's since my last review, I thought I'd update my review. I'm still thrilled with Anthony's Seafood. It's not fancy, and it's not a theme restaurant, but it is super clean, really friendly and has great seafood. The lobster roll that had a Market Price of... More

We went on a Friday night. We had the house specialty appetizer "Stuffed Quohog" It was great saw some folks getting the "Kung Pao Calamari" and wished I would have tried it for an entrée. I am certainly not complaining about my entrée. I got the Baked Native Sea Scallops and My wife got the Portuguese Little Neck past a... More

I am always looking for fresh, unassuming local restaurants with great food. Found another one! At Anyhony 'a you can eat in or take out I had a delicious grilled dinner of swordfish, corn and potatoes. My husband ordered clam strips and a cod dinner. Too much food! Our bill was $50 dollars including two beers. The food comes out... More

After a great day in Newport , stopping here for a great seafood dinner. Corn on the cob side dish is a great touch. Have had several meals and all is good. Not waiter service but keeps the price down. Very reasonable.

After waiting in line for roughly a half hour we finally reached the counter to order dinner on a Tuesday night. I ordered a bowl of the regular clam chowder and a stuffie and spouse ordered the fried fish dinner. The food was above average. The clam chowder had a heavy dill flavor but I didn't mind. The fried fish... More

The fried Cod dinner was very fresh and melted in my mouth! I would recommend it to any fish lover! Anthony's is always a friendly and casual place to visit!
