My wife and I have eaten here a few times and the restaurant is awesome. Although we've heard that the restaurant and hotel has partnered with a local caterer to take care of all the food and beverage operations. We've heard from numerous people that they've done a fantastic job at other locations and are looking forward to seeing the... More

The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team that put everything they have into running it. The ambiance is a cozy rustic feel, and the dining room is well taken care of. The service is top notch and very attentive to guests. The food is absolutely delicious. The chef personally recommended the special of the night and he... More

Incompetent but well-meaning service. I'm sure the kitchen was a disaster, but an hour for two salads and a cup of soup is not so great. Main course arrived 1 minute after the salads. On the plus side, the servers were clearly appalled but seemed helpless and too familiar with the problems. The ambiance is very nice and that helps... More

I have been to the Tap Room at the Stone House many times over the years. The food and service are great right now....LOVED the Fig & Prosciutto Ravioli and the Caesar salad app....the last time I was there we were concerned because there was a very large wedding on the grounds (magnificent views, BTW) outside, but you never would... I will admit that I reviewed this restaurant last year and did not give it a good review. However, this time we had a wonderful meal and a most enjoyable evening. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. There were six of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. From the appetizers of fried oysters, clams casino, salad,... More

We had two dinners at the 1854 Tap Room on a recent trip to Little Compton. On both ocassions the service was very good. The menu was very interesting and our dinners had some great surprises like delicious fava beans and blue cheese. The decor is a little to dark even for a pub atmosphere.

This restaurant, which isn't open that often anyway, is located in the least attractive part of the Stone House--the basement. If the food were better, the location wouldn't be a big deal, but the cuisine is uninspired and underflavored.

Very hard working staff and new chef produced an adequate meal - good salad (ceasar) and dessert (cobbler); entrees just ok. Prices reasonable. Crowded (not sure why) so make a reservation.

First of all, the atmosphere was great and the service was great. We had a party of six and were seated in a room by ourselves that was ideal since we had two young children with us. However, everything else was extremely disappointing. Our waitress very proudy told us that they had a new chef and she was clearly excited... More

This restaurant is located in the basement of The Stone House Inn and feels like a romantic getaway for any couple looking to enjoy a great meal in a dark, quiet, romantic spot. The food and service were great! Nice wine selection, especially the local offerings.
