I will admit that my brother has shipped to me, in California, a box of pizza strips because I love them so much. Every time I go to RI, I have to stop and get pizza strips, pizza, biscuits and bread. I feel sorry for people who don't get it. This is honest tasty quality food. The negative reviews appear... We have had them (cheeseless pizza strips) from just about everwhere in RI and this is still the king of pizza strips; just something tangy and special about their sauce. The spinach pies are just as good. Prices are fair. And since they have rebuilt from the fire there is now a nice full bakery in there with all kinds... More

This place is truly amazing, the food quality is second to none, whether its calzones, pizza strips, desserts, deli, snacks. The joke is you feel like you gain 5 pounds when you you walk in. Don't be distraught when you enter and its crowded. That is a good sign for a businesses such as this. It is always busy, and... More

If you want great Italian bread and pizza squares, this is the place. Also, the mini calzones are great and especially good to take if you are going visiting, it's a nice treat. A lot of other Italian favorites, but I stick to the bread, pizza and calzones!

Do not listen to other out of towners about this bakery. I grew up down the street from it and it always smelled like heaven daily. Spinach pies, pigs in a blanket, and egg biscuits are to die far. Even when I moved far away from home, this was always the first stop when I came to visit. Try it!

Based on other reviews, I'd guess a taste for Party Pizza is something you have only if you've grown up in RI, as I did; however my boys (upstate New Yorkers) LOVE it, and all their NY school friends beg them for slices when they know we'll be visiting my RI family. "Party Pizza" is unique to RI. I assume... More

D Palmieri has been a staple in Johnston for 30 years or more...It burnt down and came back stronger and more organized... The calzone's are good, along with sandwiches.. The red strip pizza is famous.. You can't get anything like it in other states.. The service is average but overall have good over all Italian food.

This a more of a pizzeria/deli than a bakery. It smells good inside but the kids asked for party pizza, no good the sauce was sour. I don't know how old the party pizza was, but it is not served hot but warm. Food is either to kept above a certain tempature or kept cold. After a sour sauce, we... More

Every birthday party, we get the party pizza from D. Palmieri and the compliments never stop. the spinach pies and specialty pizza are also very good. We always order ahead but you can walk in and get a box of pizza, too.
