The band was pretty good, and white-person-dancing oddly intriguing to watch....but really just deeply disturbing.

Highly recommend, I had the Fish & Chips, very fresh & delicious, my husband had Blackened Fish Sandwich & Fries & he said it was good. Service was excellent & bathrooms were very clean. Definitely go!

Me and hubby went last Sunday after a picnic at Beavertail park. We played a game of pool, had a couple ice cold beers and watched a great jazzy/blues band from Chicago! The other reviewers got it right; there are folks from all walks of life from locals to bikers and tourists mixed in. The dance floor is very small... More

I have been going to this cafe for years. Everyone is so friendly. Denise behind the bar is swift and efficient. She knows her stuff. Susan is also an excellent bartender. Today, 6/15/2014 I went to hear Young Neal and the Vipers perform. Awesome. I ordered the lobster salad that was on the special Sunday menu. It was fantastic. Beautiful... More

It is a great pub place for lunch. Cold beer and big sandwiches. Especially the Philly steak and cheese sandwich big enough to split. Much selection on the menu for everyone. Bartender is somewhat rough but not unbearable. Live music in the evening along with Sunday Morning. Stop in is my vote.

Why does the owner still have that person, Denise, bartending? She is so rude to customers and makes it very clear that she hates attractive women and won't wait on them, not to mention the place inside is lit up like a christmas tree making it feel like your in a McDonald's, but more importantly, that woman is rude and... We get time off for good behavior from time to time and get a sitter and the Gansett is a good venue. Good food a good beer list and one of the best places to see music. A lot more reasonably priced then going to Newport. I am a fan of thier chili and wings.

This is a BAR that serves ice cold beer (coldest anywhere!) , has good pub food and very cool live music. It has an eclectic mix of folks --locals, tourists, music hounds, bar hoppers, etc. At times it's balls to the wall--at other times you can just sit and sip. It is an icon to days gone by. Not fancy... More

Disappointed!! We from time to time "brave" the Jamestown, Newport, actually Pell Bridge to go dancing at the Narragansett Cafe. This time we also went to hear Diane Blue. She is a very good Blues singer, so we were looking forward to hearing her and also dancing to her good music. Well, the place was crowded, and so it should... More
