Expensive, and lives on by the fame it may have deserved at some point in the past. I will never go back. Terrible food, terrible service. How can you screw up a Pork Loin dinner? Easy... Make it tough, cover it with a Madeira sauce so full of garlic, that you are unable to eat. Add reheated potatoes, and tasteless... More

Stopped in at 8:00pm on a Tuesday. Not very busy & our choice of seating. Chose the floating gazebo outside. Very pretty with the hanging lights. Seated immediately by our server Rui. Menus produced and drink orders taken. Everything looked very good on the menu but we chose the littlenecks in olive oil & white wine as a shared appetizer. Littlenecks... More

We went to this restaurant on New Year's Eve 2013. The food and service were excellent. Kudos to our waiter Ernesto. He provided great service and was very attentive. I'm not sure why others were negative. We had a delightful experience.

Upon entering Madeira for the first time, I was impressed by the elegant decor. Then I saw a sign that lunch was only being served in the bar area dining room (Al's I believe it was called) and our reservation holding party of 5 was ushered in to that area by someone that may have been a bartender, judging by... When we sit at the bar, we always get a handshake from the owner or bartender and a "Welcome to Madeira". Of course this is Portuguese food that is always very good. All the appetizers are outstanding and he soups are excellent. The omelets are a nice light offering. If looking for a tasty entrée order the pork and littlenecks.... More

My husband and I went here for a Saturday night out and really enjoyed the food. My only two complaints are that that vegetables I could tell were frozen and not fresh and the bread was also served not warm which was kind of disappointing. Other than that, the food was really great - very tasty seafood. The service was... More

O.k. so the title is a little misleading. Overall, as this review will indicate, we enjoyed this restaurant for its food and atmosphere. But in 60+ years of eating out, (in the U.S., Europe, Australia, etc.) I have never been refused a glass of (free) water. Granted, Europe puts a premium on ice, but come-on, refusing to give you water... More

My husband and I went there for lunch. He ordered a shrimp dish and I the sea bass. When my husband's dish came out, it wasn't the one he wanted so they promptly sent it back, no questions asked, and made him the other shrimp dish. The waiter was exceptional and we both enjoyed our dishes. We are looking forward... More
