That Air of Authenticity

I've never visited South East Asia, but... Minh Hai serves an awesome Pho, with meltingly tender tendons if you care. I don't think it's on the menu, but they will prepare a killer platter of thinly sliced raw beef and lemons. Your food will not arrive at your table quickly, but it is worth the... read more

Ok, I was so happy to find this place, but I have to admit, I'm never terribly impressed with any Vietnamese restaurants after working in the Richmond to Northern Virginia area where there are many fantastic Vietnamese restaurants. With that said, this was not what I would say was disappointing, but lacking in several areas. I asked if they served... More

I used to go to this location when it was Haruki's Japanese restaurant. That was a long time ago and Haruki now has at least two fine restaurants at other locations. After enjoying Japanese cuisine for a long time, I am now learning to enjoy Vietnamese food at Minh Hai. I try a different dish each time and have enjoyed... More

I came here with a buddy of mine for lunch one day. I like that its b.y.o.b. There around enough places like that around. It seemed very traditional which I liked very much. The waitress did mess up both my bubble tea order and my friends pho noodle soup order. The soup was delicious though. As for the ambience, it... More

We were looking for something different to try, and definitely not disappointed in this! The decor is simple (but remember it being redone at some point). As said in a previous post, it is family run, and you can see the pride they take in their food. It is made fresh, so expect a bit of a wait from the... More

The Food at this restaurant is very good especially the Soups. This is a local casual eatery. The prices being reasonable. The service is slow as the owners do everything from serving to the cooking. Hard working, honest people. I prefer to take out and give them a specific time for pickup, that way the food is always ready when... More

How much deliciousness can you pack in to a bowl? I am not sure but this place packs in a lot of subtle flavors. The broth is superb, it doesn't need any sriracha or any other condiments besides the standard the bean sprouts, jalapeño and Thai basil. The place is simple, just like most restaurants in Vietnam, the food speaks... More

This restaurant is definitely a casual eatery, but the food is tasty. Some of my families favorites: -GOI CUON (Fresh spring rolls) - BANH HOI CHA GIO (Grilled beef on Vermicelli) -COM TAY CAM (Clay pot with shrimp, chicken breast, and vegetables) If you want to eat great on budget try the Pho. These bowls of soup with noodles and... More

So after 4 months of dining at Minh Hai, I would say we love it! Not just pho, and they have beef broth and chicken broth, some places don't separate. The grilled meat with special rice is awesome. Drinks are good too, although I have still yet to try the bubble tea, haven't been able to justify the calories... :)... More

An unexpected gem! The food is amazing. Best Vietnamese food I have had in a long time, and excited to find it near my home. The food was wonderfully flavorful and quickly prepared. Very good service and will be eating here often.
