When “Basta Restaurant and Gourmet Shop” opened its doors in 1989, the goal was ambitious: To create a combination of food, service and atmosphere that struck the perfect balance of what a complete, authentic Italian dining experience should be.Over these past 23 years, locals have become regulars and traveling foodies have raved. What can we say? We are flattered, grateful and more than ever, determined to exceed your expectations. For this reason, in 2012 we underwent a comprehensive renovation, updating and upgrading every facet of our restaurant, from design and equipment to menu and energy. We are so proud of the result and we know you are going to love it.We invite you to join us to experience Basta for yourself. Our locally sourced, internationally influenced menu, artisan Neapolitan pizzas and robust wine offering will combine to create an unforgettable experience for you and your friends or family. We look forward to serving you soon!

We visited for my husband's birthday. The restaurant offers inside and outside dining which we chose inside. The staff was extremely accommodating and the food was delicious. I recommend the calamari and polpette for appetizers and for dinner I had the most delicious salmon over lemon arugula risotto. All topped with a tasting of Lobster. Restaurant is a bit pricey... It was a Monday night, so the restaurant wasn't busy. We chose to dine in the patio area, as so it seemed everyone else. Very comfortable seating, and since it was a mild night, also very nice. We ordered bruschetta and fagiolini (a green bean salad) for starters. Both were good. Hard to stand out on bruschetta, but the green... More

SHAME on you to serve a veal parm like that. Rhode Island is known for Italian restaurants. Well this was horrible, all bread crumbs paper thin veal "wheres the veal" This was my daughters Big B-Day and sorry to say 2 orders of this veal was a big waste of $$$$$ $150 later. Sorry We didn't send these back. Mentioned... More

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and decided to check it out. We had the best waiter - Ian, who gave us outstanding service. We were there early (4:30) and by 5 pm it was pretty busy. The food is great - one member of our group had the salad and they said it was the best dressing they... More

If you are looking for a quiet, place with great food and reasonable prices, then keep searching. The food at Basta was bland, horrendous, undercooked and over- priced. I ordered the bloanagse and Hamburger Helper would have been better. My husband had the Veal Parm which was battered with a pancake- like substance with little meat and again, no flavor.... More

I have to start by saying, the Grapefruit, olive oil, and basil spongecake had to have been one of the best and most creative desserts I have ever had. Every component was delicious and went so well with one another. The food was pretty good here, but not out of this world. I enjoyed my boyfriend's lobster ravioli much more... More
