Great Classic French

Lots of classic French dishes with nice New England touches. Local cheeses and veggies are used when possible. Steak Frites are outstanding. The fries are incredible. All the salads are interesting with house made dressings.

Very underwhelmed and disappointed with this place today. My family and I ate at Le Central for a Mother's Day Brunch this morning. When we were seated and got the menus that read "Mother's Day" I noticed right away that a particular item on the menu was priced higher than usual, I asked our server if the regular brunch menu... Dear Mr. Gillian, I'm very sorry to hear that you had a less than wonderful experience on Mother's Day. Did you let your server know that there was an issue with the sandwich and root vegetable portion? I just want to make sure that your concern wasn't ignored. Regarding the menu prices, we did post the menu online, in an... More

A beverage, a slice (or two) of buttered bread and laughter. It was exactly what I needed for a mid-week escape. Oh and dinner! A perfectly done steak and a fresh green salad. I almost forgot to mention the onions in a luscious red wine reduction. Like I said, delicious.

I recently visited Le Central for the first time with my girlfriend and parents. We arrived early, at 5, and were asked to sit where we wanted, which was great! While it wasn't very busy initially, especially for a Saturday, as we ate, more guests arrived. The fresh bread and soft butter was perfect while waiting for our entrees. Service... More

We had lunch here, the warm bread was very good. Our very crispy french fries were divine. The $26 lobster BLT was a large sandwich, but I didn't see much lobster. We also had a short rib sandwich ($12+) that was more grilled onion than meat. In fairness tho, I must tell you that my friend and I split the... More

When someone asks what is my favorite restaurant in RI I don't hesitate to say Le Central in Bristol. We're regulars -- eating there at least once a week, occasionally more. Jesse, the owner/chef, knows food; Jesse has high standards for what he wants his restaurant to be; best of all, Jesse knows how to deliver. It's not just the... More

My wife and I typically eat here before going to plays at Second Story Theater. The friendly staff provides dependably excellent food and service with a French interpretation. I had an organic beef burger with melted Gruyere on a Brioche bun with a side of garden salad and pickles. (truly a multicultural marriage). We have also had lamb and salmon... More

Le Central is a friendly unpretentious Bistro that is a must stop if you wish to have creatively prepared foods that are delicious and reasonably priced. My wife and I stopped for lunch. We both started with soups, she the onion soup gratinee and I the Littleneck Chowder. Both were excellent. Instead of chopped clams, the chowder contained littleneck clams... More

As you enter Le Central you cannot help but be impressed by the staff's warm greetings and the choice of "sit wherever you'd like". The atmosphere is inviting with clean tables adorned with fresh flowers. Background music suited to the French ambiance and attentive service gets you into a relaxing mood. My wife and I have been Tuesday night regulars... More
