Not a bad find

We happen to be in the area at about 6:30pm on a Saturday night and were able to get straight in with no reservations. They are not ON the water but they do have a few tables outside you can see the water... (other side of road/park) if that is what you want. We just wanted a casual dinner so... read more

Our tour bus dropped us off in front of this restaurant with a limited time for lunch. After looking at the menu we decided to eat here rather than to search for another restaurant. I ordered the clam chowder and we shared the schnitzel sandwich platter. The clam chowder was creamy with plenty of tender clams. A full schnitzel was... More

Redlefsen's features great German and American food and is a fun place to dine. Family owned with great service and a usual selection of beers. The Schnitzel rivals that of Austria, the Goulash and Sauerbratten are rare treats. They have an excellent selection of fish and more traditional American favorites so you don't think of it as a "German Restaurant".... More

Thank you for the review. And thanks for commenting on that lunch review, I think one star reviews are more appropriate if you actually get a meal. Re the spice. Agreed German is is subtle flavor not big flavor. I do have some recommendations though. #1 ask chef Rolando to blacken any fish we are serving. He does a killer... More

We loved this restaurant in its original location on Hope St when it was run by the original owner. The food was average and overpriced on our most recent visit.

Redlefsen's was established in 1989 by Jens and Marie who sold to my father Walter Guertler in 1995. Redlefsen's was forced out of it's old 45 seat location due to construction of condos in 2000. Walter built the new location out of a Narragansett Beer distribution center across from Bristol Harbor and Independence park. Then new location has a water... More

Good selection of authentic German Beers on tap + a Belgian on tap and others by the bottle. Situated directly across from the End Point / Start Point of the 14.2 mile East Bay Pike Path. It's a converted railway and a beautiful ride. If starting from Providence this is a great spot to stop before riding back.

Visiting local friends from out of town and they took me here for dinner knowing I love scallops. So that's what I ordered and they were superb. My friends also ordered scallops and prime rib. The wait staff called my friend by name. Very friendly, but not bothersome.

Thank you so much for the complements. We are so fortunate to be close to some of the best local seafood anywhere. I buy as much of my seafood as possible from Foley out of New Bedford several times a week. The difference between fresh local and frozen is huge. I am so glad you had a chance to enjoy... More

We checked the menu outside before going in bc my friend has some dietary concerns. She saw a chicken wrap on the menu, so we went in, only to find out, that was the lunch menu that ended at 4pm. It was 4:20, our waitress would not even ask if they could make that wrap. There were no times listed... More

It is so disappointing that people are given the same right to a one star review as the person who got a cigarette in their salad at that place down the street. Our lunch hours are posted on the door. I have never seen a lunch menu in a nice restaurant that had hours on it so I think the... More

We love Bristol and wanted to try a new restaurant there, preferably one with outdoor seating, as it was a very warm afternoon. We happened upon Redlefen's and as it had an attractive outdoor patio, we decided to give it a shot. As a lover of European beer, I was immediately impressed by the beer list and opted for a... Hi, Thanks for the review. I appreciated the German kudos. I wish I knew what the something was on the Scallop Salad that you felt it was missing. I am also really curious what would have made your wife more impressed with the beverages. Re schnitzel sandwich. Agreed it is a pork in a breading station with only salt to... More

Starting with the interesting selection of imported beers(many on tap) to the very nice selection of plentiful German food (sufficient non German options too) this restaurant is a must try. I had the Portuguese kale soup of the day which rivaled any I have had in authentic Portuguse restaurants. The wiener schnitzel was fabulous with spaztle (sp) and pickled cabbage.... More

Have been to Redlefsen's many times, which is a testament to its fine fare. Service is excellent, as is the food. The place to be in October worth checking out.
