Traditional NE Seafood With a View..

The view enhanced the food. If you are a tourist to NE you should enjoy this restaurant. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. She made good recommendations with the exception of the Indian Pudding.. too much molasses. The water girl kept our water glasses filled. We shared an... read more

First time I have been back to the 'Lobster Pot" in many, many years. Unfortunately, not much has changed. The owners apparently think an upgrade of decor, food presentation or menu selection is not a necessary for increasing prices. I dine out, in the Newport, Bristol County (Both RI & MA) two to three times a week, the Lobster Pot... More

Beautiful water views of the bay. The evening we dined had a beautiful sunset. Excellent food, with a good variety...lobster, shrimp, scallops plus beef and chicken. Very friendly hostess and competent wait staff. Highly recommend.

Our visit was for lunch with extended family and although the food was decent; it missed the mark. The oysters were not shucked properly with shell bit fragments everywhere for starters. The wine list was just OK. We wanted to see local wine featured. The shrimp were tough from being over-cooked and not completely deveined which is unacceptable. The main... More

Celebrated a college graduation party in their private room. The service was impeccable, the food was a bit above average, and the prices were reasonable for what I ordered. The calamari was extremely fresh, lobster bisque was a bit salty but I had 2 large pieces of lobster meat. I ordered the lobster roll and it was very fresh and... More

Right on the water with beautiful views. Fresh ingredients and well prepared. Got a reservation and was seated right away. Attentive service. Would go again.

Wonderful waiter, fresh flavorful food, beautiful view. My son, his friend and myself were in town only for the day--so after going to the beach for the day wanted to have special lunch and this was random choice which turned out perfect. My lobster roll was overflowing with meat , Scallops were broiled to perfection and fish and chips yummy.... More

Fried clams whole bellies were very good, friendly service. Beautiful day but they wouldn't let us sit on the deck to dine. I didn't know why it made a difference if they served us out or in.

Generally speaking, the food was simply not flavorful. Crab cakes, fried oysters, and broiled scallops were all bland. Service was OK, but not friendly.

I took my bride to the Lobster Pot 20 years ago for her birthday and we came here for a reprise of that experience. Huge span of glass provides great view of the Bay. I don't remember that. It has expanded from 20 years ago. Great view, our server was knowledgeable and fun. My half dozen oysters expanded to 8... More
