Any fine restaurant that provides a little something extra between courses is usually a cut above, and the Hourglass Brasserie is no exception. Their Short Ribs were the best I've ever had. That combined with their trained and capable wait staff makes this a restaurant to return to.

2nd Time eating at the Hourglass, just good food and service. The owner chef always takes the time to say hello and ask about the meal. I would recommend this restaurant and my favorite would naan taco and short ribs.

We just had an incredible dining experience at the Hourglass Brasserie in Bristol. The atmosphere took us back to our dining experiences in Paris!! The menu options were based upon locally sourced ingredients- from fresh halibut to locally sourced vegetables, to spectacular short ribs, all of the selections were expertly prepared and presented. The wait staff was very accommodating without... More

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at The Hourglass Brasserie last evening. This is what dining should be. Our server was delightful, she recommended a great bottle of wine as we were unfamiliar with most of the selections. My husband and I shared the beet appetizer, which was beautifully served with edible flowers from the chef's garden. Prior... More

I am from Bristol and eat locally all the time but have never really been tempted to go to this relatively recently opened restaurant. The menu online shows few choices that both my wife and I can agree on so we put it off; also we drive or walk past often and it is usually empty or not very busy... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for your recent review on tripadvisor. I'm sorry to hear you had a mediocre experience at the Hourglass. Here we strive everyday to give our guests that very special dining experience. I am local too living only down the street from my business. We locally source all our ingredients as much as we can in order... More

We've eaten at Hourglass Brasserie several times over the last few years, but this visit was exceptional. We did the four-course tasting menu, and every dish was absolutely impeccable. Favorite dishes included the squid-ink risotto and lamb loin, although every plate was a delight. The service was knowledgeable and friendly, and the chef-owner even came around to make sure everyone... More

Our friends introduced my husband and myself to the Hourglass a week ago, and the food and the service were outstanding. I ordered a poached lobster entree and the fish was delicious, delicate and lightly poached and the amount of butter was just right. Honestly I don't think I've ever tasted lobster as perfect as this dish and living in... More

I am a foodie and this place is amazing! The service was outstanding, the food was beyond great-creatively presented, every bit of food put before me was an absolute adventure for palette. I travel and have eaten in many cities- but this place killed me! In a good way;) Now if I can convince them to open a sister restaurant... More

This place is special. A lot more than a good meal. Our server, Katlin, was friendly and helpful and explained the ingredients when served. The beet salad used very fresh cut vegetables, each carefully prepared and placed in an appetizing arrangement. I had the halibut and my wife the spareribs. Each had a wonderful sauce that enhanced the entree. I... More

The chef has clearly put a lot of thought into the use of seasonal ingredients to present such a delightful array of selections. The amuse bouche, and intermezzo palate cleanser were thoughtful and artful in presentation (the night we were there, a tiny tureen of green gazpacho and a watermelon shooter topped with tart raspberry foam, respectfully). The prices are... More
