We first tried this establishment during restaurant week because the word out there was that it is very expensive. Well, it is worth every penny. First impression upon entering is that it's very cosmopolitan (it could have been Boston or New York). Finely appointed and they have the best staff. The food is first class (we had duck, short ribs... More

First tried the Hourglass during Newport Restaurant week. The experience was wonderful and have returned to enjoy dining in a lovely quiet restaurant. Chef Raz displays his European education to fulfill a culinary adventure. Choices are ecclectic and change seasonally to take full advantage of local Farmer's Markets etc. Fair pricing - a dining experience that you will feel relaxed,... More

I cannot begin to describe how delicious the food is at this restaurant. I have loved everything I have ordered. The first time I went, the amuse bouche was a cucumber borscht and I really could have licked the little bowl it was sooo good. Best thing I ate, EVER. I keep going back and have never been disappointed. You... More

Went to The Hourglass for New Years Eve, was once again blown away. I cannot say enough wonderful thing about this restaurant. It is a class above all, and we are lucky to have such a talented chef in this community. A fan for life...

This is my third time eating at the HourGlass. I had the venison paired with and Argentine wine…..exquisite and the service was superb! Can't wait to go back again!

Wow, what a lovely find this place was. We wandered in based on other TA recommendations. It was Restaurant Week in Newport and this spot did not disappoint. Starters of a lovely borscht with a drop of dill oil, then the most light, creative beet salad we had ever had. I enjoyed the fried black bass with yummy kale chips... More

We have had many family gatherings at the Hourglass Brasserie in Bristol, Rhode Island since its opening and Chef Ahmed's fine cuisine continues to delight the eye and impress the palate. We were there for his introduction of the James Beard scallop appetizer – what a treat! The staff at the Hourglass takes the time to explain the intricacies of... More

First impressions are important. We were greeted professionally, introduced to our server and it kept getting better. We both chose the Chef's tasting menu, a four course work of culinary art. Our server explained each selection in such great detail we began to enjoy the tastings before a taste. Everything was wonderful, but some favorites included the mushroom risotto and... More

Hourglass is an extraordinary dining experience and on par with some of the finest restaurants we have dined at in Boston and New York. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable and provided fabulous service. The food was carefully prepared and presented, using fresh, sustainable, local ingredients. This is one restaurant that will be on our list of 'favorites'.

So many wonderful flavors, and precisely paired to heighten your dining experience. Blows me away each time I go. Even the fine restaurants I've eaten at in Europe match his presentation or the amount of flavors in one dish. Great service and atmosphere. If you love fine food with flavor and enjoy the eye candy, you will enjoy your evening.
