When available, the Spring House Hotel kitchen strives to use vegetables from our very own gardens, Many of our dish’s are created solely to utilize what we grow in our own backyard. We believe that self sustainability with organically grown herbs and vegetables is the healthiest way to cook. We strive to source all produce organically and or hormone and pesticide free if available, collaborating with Farm Fresh Rhode Island, we are able to source local farmers and purveyors throughout New England.

Lobster Roll

Freshly squeezed lemonade and lobster roll while enjoying the view from their veranda! This is what New England summer is all about! Very relaxing and luxurious yet casual. The kids just run over to the sprawling grass yard when they have had their fill. No wonder we come and visit regularly!

Dining on Block Island in the off season offers few options, generally only a few places stay open in the winter, so it was a pleasant surprise, indeed, to learn that there is now a small restaurant behind The Spring House named "The Barn" offering fine dining. Great atmosphere, food was ok. It felt like a real locals meeting place hidden in the back of a barn. Not easy to find.

Had dinner this past Saturday evening. The service (Heather) was excellent and the meal was perfect, from appetizers to desserts. Ran into friends, but also met some friendly diners next to us. What a wonderful way to spend a winter evening.

Had heard about The Barn, and wanted to give it a try. We did make a reservation as it is busy and popular. Overall, we had a nice experience, though their signature Black and Blue martini had Blue cheese stuffed green olives, plenty of olive juice, not much gin (or was it vodka?), and no Black. what a great restaurant in a nice setting...........dined on the friday after thanksgiving....nice menu and very professional and friendly staff......does get very crowded and tables are on top of each other reservations are a must....suggest reconfriming your reservation as mine was messed up...they had me coming the week before and thought I was a no show.....thankfully they accomodated us even... This is a stately yet friendly Inn and restaurant. We dined in an inviting area, spacious surroundings, collectible sofas by the bar, old wooden moldings, beautifully appointed, and we loved the paintings throughout by a local artist of mostly historic buildings on the island.

My son and his wife had their wedding at the Springhouse and had a brunch for the meal. It started out with oysters and shrimp appetizers. The hotel and restaurant kind of has a haunted feel, like the shinning set up on a big hill. Even feel that way when you walk in. But it so cute and the food was outstanding. Tons of seasonal items and lots to choose from for every budget.

Our yoga retreat group enjoyed an amazing meal in the dining room of this beautiful inn overlooking the ocean.
