The food was very good and very expensive. The location was beautiful and we ate in the garden area. We would definitely eat here again. I had the seafood and my husband had the steak.

My husband and I went for my birthday dinner and were not disappointed. It is among the more expensive restaurants on the island, but it is certainly not excessive compared to some of the other island standards (the National) that do not offer this quality of food. Our evening was a lovely experience through and through. Delicious food, great, attentive... More

We had a lovely experience at the Manisses restaurant. The old world charm of the Victorian hotel makes for a memorable setting. The staff was attentive. We both enjoyed fish entrees and they were fresh and delicious. It is a bit pricey, but it may be the finest dining experience on the island. Highly recommended.

Just back from a wonderful dinner at Manisses. Great to welcome back the previous chef. New menu. Everything was yummy, but the BLT surf 'n turf (pork belly and scallops) was really special.

What a great find was the restaurant in this old inn! The chef (Ed) had prepared the best lamb I have ever tasted! In addition, the seafood pot pie appetizer was a meal in itself. This restaurant breaks the mold of pre-packaged food prep. They grow their own vegetables in the garden on site. The special creations of this chef... More

Did not go there this year, last visit in August 2013. Great food, nice location and the prices are somewhat below the level of astronomical. If they still have the lobster mashed potatoes, give them a try - filled with thumbnail sized morsels of lobster.

An unexpected delight to find that this little island plays hosts to one of the best new chefs I have encountered. Executive Chef Ed Briones had a menu so tempting we had to go twice to enjoy more. Our first night I devoured a lamp shank on a bed of mushroom risotto that was heavenly. Seasonal salads were garden fresh,... More

We decided to eat out in our last night on Block Island. We chose this one because of reviews and because it was located in one of the older hotels. We had excellent cocktails first. Then, everything else was quiet delicious.

Nice restaurant, great service. Delicious seared sea scallops with vegetable risotto! Expensive, but a nice treat.

We had an excellent - truly excellent - meal here, both me (a vegetarian) and my husband (an unabashed carnivore). What really gets me going is when a restaurant has (a) more than one vegetarian option and (b) all vegetarian options are creative and more than just salads. I also love that many dishes are available in half portions -... More
