Lunch at the Beachhead

This place was buzzing with people this late Oct. saturday. My salmon sandwich was delicious and my husbands fish sandwich was O.K. We sure appreciated the freshly brewed coffee! The service was good even though they were so busy. The B.H. with it's gorgeous view is always fun to visit.

The Beachhead is a great restaurant with an active bar. The food is consistently good to excellent, the beer choices are diverse and the view is terrific. I have been there as a party of two and a party of 30 (reservations needed for large groups). Staff is friendly and attentive.

We sat outside next to the firepit and had drinks and oysters. There was a guy selling oysters that he caught that morning "buck a shuck" We had a dozen and they were some of the best we have every eaten. Great spot for appetizers and drinks!

A recent reviewer mentioned atrocious service. While we've been subjected to this treatment elsewhere, we certainly didn't experience that tonight. The place was buzzing, and the drinks and food were on trays going back and forth. Our server checked in with us often. The food was excellent, salmon was fresh, and the Block Island chowder had more clams than I'd... More

Stopped here for a late lunch (almost 3pm). There were other customers but it wasn't super crowded, but the service was completely terrible. It took a very long time for anyone to greet us and to get seated (though wait staff walked by ignoring us repeatedly), a very long time for anyone to come to the table, for anyone to... More

We were here for a wedding welcome reception. The staff was courteous and terrific, and the food was amazing. Our hosts had chosen a raw bar - the coldest, best oysters we'd ever had, lobster rolls, sirloin tips on skewers - and lots more. While this was not ordered by us from a menu, if the quality of the offerings... More

We went there for dinner our first night and loved it. The next couple afternoons went for drinks and appetizers after being on the beach....which is directly across the street. It is casual , the staff is friendly and accommodating, there is an outside fire-pit where it is fun to have a drink and talk to other travelers. Highly recommend... More

We dined here three times during our visit to Block Island and enjoyed the food every time. We ordered the baked haddock, steamed clams, steak tips and clam strip plate, all were excellent. The wait staff the first night seemed overwhelmed but that happens sometimes with seasonal restaurants, the other two times there were no problems. No question, hands down... More

I went on Sunday night with 8 others and it was solid! Great views, excellent service and good food. The lobster mac and cheese was to die for. I will definitley be back next summer.

Starting with the positives: good service, awesome location where you can park easily and look at the beach, nice fire out, good dark and stormys. Food was fine but when we return next year it will be for drinks only. Got a salad, chicken focaccia, and white fish meal.
